A sketchy Saturday for Sketchy Thursdays!

Thanks to digi, I think I'll be able to play along more often at Sketchy Thursdays!

I'm planning to incorporate the sketches into my practice digi pages!

Here are some old photos taken by the kids!  Between Isabel and Gabe, they got some real great shots!

I'll be taking part in Jessica Spragues new hybrid scrapping class called "Mouse, Paper, Scissors" which starts later in February.  I used a little bonus check from work towards my purchase as well as some moolah I got from selling my stamp sets on Etsy!

I used elements from Jessica Sprague's "You and Me" Kit which came with the Beginning Digital Scrapbooking Class I purchased!

Oh my I've been sooo busy!

Did any of you flake out on your first few days of your December Daily album????

I sure did!  It was December 6th before I was startled awake as I thought...

SH*T, I haven't been taking pics for my DD album!  AAAAAAAHHHHH!

I took a TON of photos on Bel's birthday but that was pretty much it!

Luckily, my brother-in-law sent me a pic taken when he took Gabe to the Pacific Science Center in Seattle!

I've just been at work for the last few days....who wants to take a picture of all the "fun" there????  NOT!   Sooooo  not fun!  In fact, I've had some really crappy days at work.  Interestingly enough...it had NOTHING to do with patients....just misbehaved docs!  Wink wink!

Anyway, I've got some photos to share....

MY BIRTHDAY GIRL!

We had a FUN simple evening at home celebrating Bel's Birthday!

She was so happy!

 And last night after work, the kids and I put up the tree....

they get so excited...they've been asking me FOR DAYS....

but I've been so exhausted at work...so after my last work day,

I took a nap and then we put up the decorations!

 Lately I've been letting Bel take some pictures so I could be in the photos for a change.

Dancing to some Christmas music....Harry Connick, Jr.....sigh...

Silly kids...

Why she took this, I don't know..but I got a laugh this morning as I was looking through the pictures!

Now I'm going to dig out my work out DVDs.......is there a butt slimming yoga video out there????

I used PSE to color this image and save it as a jpeg file.

(You could also print it and color it in with watercolor, markers, crayons...etc).

I've started to omit my family's names on my blog and have now decided to do this in most layouts as well.

I create my layout without any journaling and then take a photo of it.

I then go back in and add the text digitally, omitting any names, address, or locations of any kind!

Can you guess which one is me and which one is Mini Me?

My daughter was SOOOOOO happy when I showed her this photo.

She's always said that she wants to look like me.

It makes me feel soooo cool!

I know one day this will change and I'll know absolutely nothing in her eyes.

But for now, she's my angel, and she thinks the world of me...and I love it!

She's got some of my very best qualities without inheriting my worst...

so she's a MUCH BETTER version of me.

I'm such a lucky Mommy.

Sometimes associated with Royalty is snobbishness.  Are you a snob?  Think real hard, you just may be...about something!  Are there things you're particular about?  Let's have fun with being a snob...it doesn't have to be negative....we're all human, we can't be perfect...so air out your dirty little secret!

So, as sweet-natured (wink wink) as I am, I really can be snobby about certain things.....like refusing to eat foods that are messy....chicken wings, crab, unpeeled shrimp, anything sticky....ew!  My mouth might even be watering to taste a wonderfully amazing dish...but I'll stand my ground and keep my hands clean!

(Whispered secret)....sometimes my Mom or my Hubby will crack my crab legs or peel my shrimp for me (he he)!  And I'm soooooo super happy when they offer!  Yum!  Great food with out the mess...or effort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, that's not what I scrapped about because I don' t have any photos of that stuff...soooooo...

for the newest AAM Challenge.....I'm a SNOB......

I scrapped about how snobby I am about eating Filipino Food.  My Mom's cooking is THE BEST!  I usually don't eat other people's food at family parties I go to.  Other than Mom's food, I eat my Aunt J's food, one of my besties (Sherry's Mom's food...cooks some dishes almost EXACTLY like my Moms'), um...and only a handfull of other people's cooking.  Mind you, this only applies to Filipino Food (I don't know why, I'm just weird like that)!

Aaaaah....Mom's food is the awesomest & bestest thing in the world!  I've missed it sooooo much now that I'm all grown up with a family and house of my own....boo hoo!!

Are you proud?

It's that time again...for another challenge at All About Me!

One of my proudest moments was when my daughter made a speech in Kindergarten.

The children modeled their speeches after Martin Luther King Jr's "I Have a Dream" speech.

It was so adorable to see all these little babies speaking in front of a whole room of parents!

Awwwww......

I'm sure there will be many more moments like these....

but this one I'll remember forever because it was one of the first, having my eldest child in gradeschool.

My girl makes me proud every day!

home sweet home

Good Wednesday morning to you!!!!  Well, here is my share for my layout for the newest Pink Ninja's prompt...HERITAGE! (Callista...can you see the goodies from the goodie box you gave me?????)

I also used the Kismet/September 2010 kit from Simply Obsessed.

This is a good one!  This is a photo of my family when we lived in Hawaii.  I'll always consider it our home.  We were immigrants from the Philippines, lucky enough to make our way here because dad was in the Navy...and would be for at least 25 years.

I remember the day I became an American Citizen at the young age of 8.  I didn't quite understand what it meant, but I knew it was very important....so that must have been why I recall all the waiting....during the interviewing process....all that time spent kicking stones and dust while outside, standing in lines, baking in the hot sun.....ha ha.

I really wished I could scrap some old photos of my family in the Philippines, but both families had devastating fires which burned up all the old photos....so sad.  I will never see what my great grandmother looked like...the one my mother loved so dearly....makes me sad sometimes.  I won't be able to see a photo of my great grandfather with is "high Spanish nose" as my grandmother used to say.  Apparently he was a handsome man....sigh...would have loved to see pictures....

So, hopefully my grandchildren, great grandchildren and other generations to come will see this layout and know where they came from.

I've been having fun with this mosaic maker!

The prompts for BOTH All About Me and The Pink Ninja's worked TOGETHER!

I had a lot of fun making this one......

For All About Me, the challenge is "One Little Word".....I chose the word "listen"...although I didn't use it in my title....I'm always breaking the rules....lol!

But it did prompt me to create this layout...and that's all that matters right????

Because in the end...there really aren't any rules!

And that's the way I like it!  (wink, wink)

I just saved my creation I made using "mosaic maker" and then printed it out.

I cut it up into strips.

played with paint,,,played with the computer,,,played with a transparency,,,,so much fun,,,,

I also created my FIRST 8.5 x 11 layout!......LOVE!

The Pink Ninja prompt is called "PLAYLIST".....

I am loooooving the Septempber Kit!!!!

Well, summer is coming to an end...and so will our fun morning rituals....sigh.

It's so nice to go out and about in the sunshine with my babies.

I've always been very spontaneous....I feel so constrained with schedules.  I love freedom.

Though our morning rituals can change day to day...for the most part, it consists of the elements I've outlined in my layout :)  I connected the events with corkscrew arrows...because I live life like that...hardly ever a straight line!!!!!

But I always wish I could just stick to a schedule...naturally I JUST CAN'T!

The Ninja's are at it again with prompt #45:

________ Need Love Too!

Yes....Mommies are great at giving love...but they often seem to be forgotten.

Luckily, I don't wallow too long in self pity....though I make room for it to cleanse my soul....

The fun thing I did with this layout was adding the journaling later!

I created it but could NOT come up with the journaling on the spot!

I knew I was running out of time to photograph it (in the sun which is hard to come by some days in Washington)...so I snapped a pic of the journaling blocks while still blank.

Then, as I was editing the pic in PSE, I added the text....and I LOVED it!

Hmmmm....I really need to play with digi, right?

So come play come plaaaaay!!!!

Yikes! Ugh......life has taken over and so has work!

I've been so busy that I forgot to share my layout!

But, interestingly enough, my layout will explain why!

The challenge this week at All About Me is to CELEBRATE THE POSITIVE.

I chose to scrap about my choice to focus on living life and living in the moment.

I've also made a promise to document my family as we celebrate the moments of day-to-day life.

I've captured many trips, adventures and celebrations on camera this year and have shared them through my blog.  Now I can go back and start scrapping the memories so my family can look back and live the great moments again!

Birthdays and Selfishness!

The next challenge (CHALLENGE #23)  is up at All About Me!  This one is about MEMORABLE BIRTHDAYS...scrap your best birthday memory!

I loved using them...so easy.  They blend so nicely into your layout and, though I haven't done this yet...I'm sure they'll look awesome on cards!!!!

A little bit ago, I shared some photos from a hot summer day....where the kids and I celebrated Derrick's (my cousin) brithday!  That's my latest most memorable birthday ever.  It was such a great feeling seeing the smiles on their faces.  I love these kids more than anything!

FYI, the layout was created with embellishments from the Mommy's Little Monster Kit by the Pink Ninja Addicts (big fan here)...and some extra Sassafras Monstrosity stuff I had hoarded!

As you can see, I'm REALLY trying to use up my stuff!

SELFISH!

Just scrapped a fun pic of me!

Sometimes I'm selfish....

I'm selfish with my food. Sometimes, I don't even share with the kids....SERIOUSLY...they'll eat their own meal and want my food whey I finally come home from work just because they like to eat off of peoples plates! So YES....I say NO to them...sometimes!

After a hard day at work...ya JUST WANNA EAT FROM YOUR OWN PLATE without pausing to feed a little one who ALREADY ate a couple hours before you!

Ugh!  Monday night Hubby got some yummy teriyaki and I got home...pretty late...after 10 pm...and I was STARVING!  Of course....as always...Gabe starts whining about wanting some teriyaki cuz he's "weely weely hungwee"!  I told him to go and ask his dad cuz I was already commited to eating my overdue dinner!!!!  Sigh......

Please tell me you're selfish too??????

Ha ha...I just came back from a bachelorette party in Vancouver B.C....lots a fun with girls....I'll share photos after I clear it with the persons in the photos....if not...I'll just share some Mo photos....yah yah...kinda boring...but then what else can I share??????

Oh, in other news....the week has been AWESOME!

My Hubbs is on vacations and it's like....um....I have a hubby!

Man, I never really realized how much better it is having him around!

Okay, that didn't come out right.

I hardly ever see him, so it's nice to see him and have family time.

I'm near tears talking about it, but I hope one day when the kids are older

we won't have to work opposite shifts

and actually have time together, eating dinner together, watching tv,

and even just getting annoyed with each other.....

For those of you who are lucky enough to have your hubby with you most days....even with the

messiness, farting, burping and beer drinking...consider yourself lucky.

Go figure,,,,,I actually miss my Hubbs!  Sigh.....
