Disneyland Adventure!

Photobucket

I know...I know...it's been a long time....
I'll make up for it...with THIS POST!

I've been creating for Scrapbook News and Review, so I've got TONS of projects to share later!

In the meantime, I've somehow managed to fit in some mini book creating!....JUST BECAUSE!

We're planning on going to Disneyland!  To prepare, I've created this premade mini which I'll be taking with me on our vacation.  I'm planning on journaling in it so I don't have to do it later!

I had my scrumptious Pink Ninja Addicts Kits to use which were SO PERFECT for the feel I wanted for my mini album...bright, whimsical, girly, with a little bit of edge.  The colors are so perfect for Disney!

Inside I've got some real fun goodies to share!
Come take a look!

Photobucket

I used a bunch of transparencies in my album.  I jazzed this one up with a couple rub-ons.  I also used an envelope here.  It was pretty long, about 9 inches tall and so I folded the bottom under to create a pocket which I could tuck in journal cards, calendars and tags.  These items can be journaled on, added to a page later or kept in the pocket.

Photobucket

Here's the other side of my envelope.  Cool huh?  I left some pages for journaling, like the printed paper with the lines.  I could either journal on my envelope or add a photo here.

Photobucket

Here's another section to which I added a transparency.  I left this one blank and later I may add something to it.  I HAD to add some girly lace to the edge of my square piece of cardstock.

Photobucket

I glued an index card and tag to the other side of that piece and jazzed up my envie with a journaling card and canvas tape.  LOVE THIS ENVIE!

Photobucket

A pretty simple spread here...likely I will Pizazzifiy it later.

Photobucket

Oh how I love these pages!  Another awesome envelope and pretty chipboard tag.

Photobucket

Some chipboard pages were added to serve as journaling pages.

Photobucket

I love arranging the layers so you can peek at things to come....

Photobucket

More lovely lace and trim here!

Photobucket

I folded another envelope to create a pocket. These calendar cards were stamped.  Later I plan to add the date and an "X" to mark the date of the journal entry.  I can then journal behind this card or add it to a page with my photo.

Photobucket

More fun pockets!  I love libary cards/pockets.  They're so fun.

Photobucket

I found an old die cut I accidentally misted on.  I added some strips to the chipboard tabbed card here.  I can journal on them later.

Photobucket

The back of that die cut was pretty boring so I misted it and inked the edges.  Beautimous!

This beautiful girl is my new love!  I'll love her even more when I add some awesome family photos!

Hope you enjoyed peeking!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Birthdays and Selfishness!

The next challenge (CHALLENGE #23)  is up at All About Me!  This one is about MEMORABLE BIRTHDAYS...scrap your best birthday memory!

The AAM gals were lucky enough to get a wonderful sticker prize pack from
SRM stickers to create!
I loved using them...so easy.  They blend so nicely into your layout and, though I haven't done this yet...I'm sure they'll look awesome on cards!!!!

A little bit ago, I shared some photos from a hot summer day....where the kids and I celebrated Derrick's (my cousin) brithday!  That's my latest most memorable birthday ever.  It was such a great feeling seeing the smiles on their faces.  I love these kids more than anything!

FYI, the layout was created with embellishments from the Mommy's Little Monster Kit by the Pink Ninja Addicts (big fan here)...and some extra Sassafras Monstrosity stuff I had hoarded!

As you can see, I'm REALLY trying to use up my stuff!

And next to share, I've got the DT layout I created for The Pink Ninja's new prompt,

Just scrapped a fun pic of me!

Sometimes I'm selfish....
I'm selfish with my food. Sometimes, I don't even share with the kids....SERIOUSLY...they'll eat their own meal and want my food whey I finally come home from work just because they like to eat off of peoples plates! So YES....I say NO to them...sometimes!
After a hard day at work...ya JUST WANNA EAT FROM YOUR OWN PLATE without pausing to feed a little one who ALREADY ate a couple hours before you!

Ugh!  Monday night Hubby got some yummy teriyaki and I got home...pretty late...after 10 pm...and I was STARVING!  Of course....as always...Gabe starts whining about wanting some teriyaki cuz he's "weely weely hungwee"!  I told him to go and ask his dad cuz I was already commited to eating my overdue dinner!!!!  Sigh......

Please tell me you're selfish too??????

Ha ha...I just came back from a bachelorette party in Vancouver B.C....lots a fun with girls....I'll share photos after I clear it with the persons in the photos....if not...I'll just share some Mo photos....yah yah...kinda boring...but then what else can I share??????

Mo

Demons....Play Ball!

(click on photo for larger photo)

Photobucket

This week for my design team layout for All About Me Challenge Blog, I went a little dark...

As always, the rest of the DT had very different takes....some lighthearted and funny and some seriously dark...do with it as you wish!

And for this prompt you can WIN A PRIZE!  Up for grabs is a bunch of Core'dinations Cardstock provided by Melissa!  How sweet!

SO, if you need some extra motivations.....THERE YOU GO!

This was a little of a struggle for me.  Demons.  I'm a very optimistic and positive person, but I do have my demons.  I thought it would be interesting to delve into that side of me that I don't usually think about.
A version of me that used to be.

The title of my layout is "i love the way you lie" which I took from a song by Eminem featuring Rihanna.  It was difficult for me to really journal my mood.  This song really seemed to have that dark feel to it, so I journaled the lyrics and as a whole, it seems to reflect a "me" about 10 years ago.

She wasn't always nice, honest, caring, and kind.
In fact, she was mean, selfish, hurtful, violent, jealous and vengeful.
Seriously.....Sad....
But, it was a part of me I had to get through and learn from.
I don't think I'd want to be that way again, but it was an important step to becoming the person I've grown into today, so I guess if I was given an option to change that part of my life...I don't think I would have.

Here are the lyrics I used as journaling:
"Just gonna stand there
And watch me burn
But that's alright
Because I like
The way it hurts
Just gonna stand there
And hear me cry
But that's alright
Because I love
The way you lie
I love the way you lie...."

Here's the song if ya wanna listen...but be aware that there is some profanity in the lyrics:

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

I really love this layout though!  It's so raw and real!  I don't know how this all came about...but it did in one sitting.  I love how I used vellum strips to journal on and then used it as a cage.
I think I've created some of my best work using dark prompts.
I love the mirrored teardrop, the stamping, the glitter around my eye, the hue of the photo and the sewing I did on the layout.  I also did some fun embossing using a woodgrain stamped pattern.

Now I have to say, I've never had a violent relationship like the one depicted in this song.  It's just a reflection of what I felt inside.  I swear, sometimes I did things because I honestly didn't care about myself at times.  And I did things to others because they hurt me and I wanted to hurt them back.
I didn't respect myself and I think I even dated men who I knew I wouldn't respect, just so I new I could walk away whenever I wanted.  And several times I walked away without a word, phone call, explanation.  I just didn't really care about anyone...not even myself.

And knowing what I know now, I was just dealing with demons then that even reached as far back as my young childhood.  Finally, after being hurt so many times by those I cared for, I think I snapped.

I don't know why I did the things I did, but I'm glad I eventually made peace with myself enough to begin to enjoy my life again.  And that's the Mo you all probably know.

Let's now move on to some fun!

High School was a pretty fun time in my life, though.
That's where the Pink Ninja Prompt layout comes in...

Bust out all those sports pictures you know you all have been waiting to scrap!
I know, I know...here we go again with that Pink Ninja Addicts Accidentally Kelly Kit....I KNOW!
More of my beautiful papers put to good use.

I was on the tennis team!  I loved it!  I had some of my best memories on the tennis team playing with some of my best friends!

I did some fun hand stitching here and then attached the pieces to my layout.  I loved that "report card"!  I tucked it into a pocket I created.  The back is meant for some journaling (which I didn't do yet).

It was fun and therapeutic doing all the reminiscing I did working on these two pages.
Now it's YOUR turn to play!

Hope your week has been going well!

Hugs,
Mo

My Girly Girl

Here's the newest collage challenge over at Nerdy Victorious Scrapbookers!  Beautiful no?
I love looking at the collages even though sometimes I'm not able to play along.

Here's my take:

I found a pic of my Girly Girl at age 4 right after her baby brother was born.  She's so beautiful!
She was sooo posing for that picture!  She did it on her own...with no direction.  What a ham!

I played with Picnik to add part of the title to the photo.  So cool!

I misted a kraft envelope (by Maya Road) to match.  F...U...N!
I used some elements from my Pink Ninja Addicts Kit: Carousel!
Here's a look at the yumminess just cuz the colors are beautiful on this post!

I used a chipboard epoxy button by London Tierney:
This is called "Flirty"

Check out NVS and play along!
There's a prize which will be posted August 1st!

Everyone seems to be busy lately with the summer slowdown.
What have you been up to?

MO

Published!....and Falling...

TONS of surprises for you today!

We're one day late for the next challenge at All About Me, but for good reason!  Challenge #21 asks you What's YOUR FEAR?  As some of my bloggy friends may know, I have many.  And sadly, SOME have nearly come true, but God had other plans and gave me an extension on life...he he!  But I am veering off the subject!  One of my HUGE fears is FALLING!  I'm afraid of heights...to the point of panick attacks.  I have to do breathing exercises going up elevators of VERY tall buildings (YES, THIS WASHINGTONIAN HATES THE SPACE NEEDLE)!  I can't look out windows from high for too long....and forget about peering over a balcony!  Yikes!  But that's not all.  I can't even look at it on tv!  If someone is on a ledge I get sick, if the camera shot is overlooking the street from up high I turn my head, if my kids are NEAR a window or balcony, I watch and let them enjoy...but then say after a few minutes "Get away from there or you'll give me a heart attack!"  Yes, friends, I too have issues!  Don't let my cheery smile fool you!

And since I'm usually quite long-winded, I couldn't say this all on my layout because it would take away from it all...so I wrote a quick poem....ha ha!

journaling:
My legs turn to jell-o when I think about being up HIGH….or when I see someone too close to the edge, looking down below. My heartbeat quickens, I can’t seem to breathe. I pray for the moment to pass and that TWISTING in my heart to ease, with the return to SAFETY.

And this leads into my NEXT surprise.......I'VE BEEN PUBLISHED!  He he.  This layout is in
Scrap Street Magazine because the All About Me blog was featured!  And along with myself, my talented AAM ladies have also been part of this honor!  Wooooohoooo!
Check the article out HERE!

Gosh, it feels so good for all of us!  We've created and shared out of love and we're getting recognized!  I'm so happy for AAM and Melissa and the rest of the DT!  They're so talented!

Once again, I created with my FAVE Pink Ninja Addicts Kit....Accidentally Kelly!  Ninja Masters...I dunno how you do it month to month, but your kits are so rockin' cool!

Another surprise....ready?  WE HAVE A SPONSOR THIS MONTH!  Yah!  So now, you HAVE to play along!  Come on!  You know you want to!

Who is it you ask?   Well....giggle...you will have to go to AAM to find out!  In the interest of being lazy...ha ha...I will let Melissa take it away...she'll reveal the rest of the surprises to you!  So give my AAM girls some love by checking it out and commenting!  They love it when you visit!

So...what's one of your fears?

Hugs,
Mo

vaca shoes!

I know!  I haven't shared a scrappy creations in a LONG WHILE!  I was truly in withdrawals while on vaca!  I missed creating so much!!  I slammed out 2 layouts on Wednesday after resting up the rest of Tuesday when I got in from my flight.....you will see the other creation SOON!

This layout was inspired by a challenge over at These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things!  They are having TONS (you will not believe....) of prizes so you GOTTA play!  The challenge topic is "These are a few of my favorite SHOES!"

Now, I've got hundreds of photos after my Hawaii trip to share!
I've said before, I'm a shoe FREAK!

It really sucked having to pick only SOME shoes to pack.  This was my FAVE pair while on vacation.  My sister Krystal gave them to me for Mother's Day.  These sandals were sooooo cute!

I used my Pink Ninja Addicts Kit called Three Little Birds.  I LOVE that glittery cardstock from American Crafts.  I think I'd been hoarding this one but realized, if I don't use all this goodnes, then what do I buy it for right?  Sigh.

The sparkly blue went well with the Hawaii photo at the beach!
Oh man, it's sooooo much fun using those PN kits!  Aaaaah!

I was also inspired by the color palette over at Candy Shoppe Designs for this one!  BTW, it's headed up by my Ninja Sister Lynnette!

FUN!  What a nice pairing of challenges...it worked out so well!  You really should check it out, I really wouldn't normally think to use these colors together.  So RAZZLE DAZZLE it up!

The sponsor is Color Me Miki!

And you could win THIS June kit called "Good Times" from them!

Wanna learn more?  Visit CSD HERE.

Play with the lovely talented ladies at CSD!  Um, their creations for this challenge are so slammin! You have till June 7th to link up so DO IT NOW!

Oh, so I'm still editing my hundreds of photos!  Here's a couple of some of my Hawaii familia over there!

My kids met my cousin's kids for the first time....so sweet!  They were fast friends!  Girls are TOO CUTE!  Gabe was jealous because these two girls were taking all his sisters attention away from him.

This cutie patootie is my doggy nephew Buddy...he he...he's so cute!  It's my Uncles dog.  We wanted to bring him to Washington with us, but Uncle wasn't having it!

Well, until next time! I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

Mo

Imma Shoe Freak and some Random Thoughts!

Boy was I a craftin fiend this weekend.  All in my craft room playing, cutting and designing!
I ripped into my cool new Pink Ninja Addicts Kit called Thrift Shop Junkie!  The elements in it were softer than I wanted so I mixed in another kit called Sew Cute Embellishment Kit (by Scrap Freak).  I also dug up some old Graphic 45 Fashionista stuff which gave my layout the right FLAVOR!!!

The prompt at All About Me Challenge Blog is "In Her Shoes" which is hosted by the lovely Janis!  That woman is such a talent!

Here's what I got to play with to make my LO!

Look at all that wonderful vintage thrift-shoppyness goodness!

This one's the Sew Cute Embellishment Kit from Scrap Freak!....SEW FREAKIN' CUTE!
I only used the buttons and pins but thought you'd like to see the yumminess here!

So I'm a SHOE FREAK, FOR REAL!  It's another guilty pleasure of mine!  Except...I hardly ever feel guilty cuz I wear the FUNK outta my shoes!  Oh, but there's no FUNK in them, know what I mean?

Journaling reads:
"What can I say...they're my weakness!  There's NOTHING better than a kick-ass pair of shoes!"

Now THESE are my most favoritest pair of kick-ass rocker boots EVER!  I got these BAD GIRLS for myself!  Look at all those cool straps!
Luke got me these (I picked em out though)!  LOVE EM!!!!  My shoes motivate me to get outta my PJ's most mornings....cuz you'd look CRAZY wearing shoes like these with PJ's right????
And my sis Krystal picked these babies out for me!  I looooooooove them!

So there you have it....3 of my FAVE pair of shoes....right now, at least!
I kinda get sad when summer comes, cuz that means these babies have to go in hiding till the Fall!

And just when you thought it was over...here are some Random Thoughts!
The current prompt over at the Pink Ninja's Challenge Blog is

RANDOMNESS!

Use a Paperclip

Pink Twist: Embroidery Floss

***  whoops, prompt is not up...maybe due to the DT call underway????...hmmm...I'm sharing anyway!

And for this one, I used some goodness from my Pink Ninja Addicts Carousel Kit!

I've said it before.  I'm a scatterbrain.  I've always got a TON of things running through my mind at the same time.  When I was younger, it was difficult for me to focus, but now I'm better at it!  I think being a Nurse trained me to use my SECRET POWER and channel it for GOOD!  Yes, I'm a super hero.

Click on the photo above to view the random thoughts....it saves me some time typing.  I've got to use all my available time to FIGHT EVILDOERS you know!

Don't forget to head on over to these wonderful Challenge Blogs K?  These girls give up their free time for the love of scrapping and I think they are all so awesome!  Play along if you can!!!  I've created my most bestest layouts with these challenges!

Ooooooh!  Just realized as I'm typing this up (ahead of time over the weekend), it's The Hubsters Bday today!  If you're reading this Luke, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!....yeh right...

Hugs,
Mo
