Happy Birthday, Human.

I got my shipment of Stampin' Up! goodies in the mail the other day! Wow! As a Demonstrator, we get to order sets BEFORE THEY ARE ACTUALLY OUT! I also got a couple new hostess sets in the new catalog! The new catty comes out July 1st! Oh, it's sooooooo nummy! And the NEW In Colors are so lusciously bright!

Well, I've been meaning to head over to my friend, Samatha's NEW CHALLENGE BLOG: SP Color Combos! It's called SP Color Combos and every week she has a challenge where you will use certain colors in your projects. Anyway, I saw this weeks colors and...boy did I have a time thinkin' up a design! I don't usually use these colors together...definitely a challenge for me! But, it worked out and most importantly I had fun!

I got to use my NEW set Lots of Bots! This set is too cuteriffic! While I was creating, I kept on saying "Waaaaaaleeeeeee" the whole time! It's so catchy (from the movie Wall-E)! I do a lot of sound effects when I stamp....but that coulda been the Sangria talkin'!

I sooooo tried to make this a boy card, but alas....I love my flower clusters much too much so they snuck in there! I like mixing it up...rough distressed edges, nuts and bolts, flowers and bling! Ha ha! WHAT A COMBO! I think it worked because of the color combo...I mean purple (kinda girly) with brown and green (in very boy shades)!

Hope you likey....HUMANS!

Come on! Get Your Freak On!

Photobucket

Okay! Ready for some enabling? I'm the gal for you! I have had the pleasure of finding an awesome site which I've been lurking! You know when you meet someone and you just click? THAT is what it was like for me and this forum! He he....you think I'm joking....I'm serious.

Whenever I discover a new place to play, I've GOT to be drawn in pretty immediately! I don't know what it is about this place but I love it! It's called SCRAP FREAK. The forum is sooooo welcoming, you will not believe how quickly you'll get a "hello" or "welcome".

The prices are very competitive and they carry lots of different manufacturers! AND THEY'RE HAVING A SUMMER SALE! Yep, everything is normally already 10% off and right now till June 28th you get an ADDITIONAL 25% off EVERYTHING...including Clearance items...some of which are marked WAY DOWN! Lemme just toss a name out.....COSMO CRICKET! Yes...CLEARANCD....YES....EXTRA 25% off of THAT price! Um....yeah! I think from the time I got the news...an hour later I had made a purchase and I'm soooo excited to get my goodies! I'm not sure how shipping works but I think I only paid $5!

Wooohooo! With the stress I've been going through at work....this sure makes me feel better!

Okay this post will not be without some eye candy.......I made a layout for their GDT and it's not my "usual" color choices! I got to use some of my Sassafras papers! He he.

I decided to document some of Gabe's favorite things. Although this photo was of him at 7 months of age, the favorites I listed are current as of age 2 1/2 years old:
Food: fruits and vegetables (I know....weird...you give him a plate of food and he PICKS OUT the veggies and leaves the rest....he's learned the word PROTEIN! You need to eat more PROTEIN...so I'm giving him some soy milk and he seems to love it!)
Drink: apple juice (Although to him everything is "appo jooos"....but when you put a cup of OJ and Apple Juice next to each other...he always goes for the apple juice.)
Cartoon: Dora the Explorer (NOT to be confused with DIEGO.....oh no...don't you DARE try to fake him out with Diego cuz he's NOT HAVIN' IT!)
Activity: singing and drawing (Which includes drawing on walls and furniture! I don't know how he finds these pens!)

Here's all the other GDT entries for June at Scrap Freak. Everyone had some great layouts/projects!

Oh! And chickety check this out! I got this link from one of the blogs I stalk! Do you like pizza? How bout cookies?.....hmmmmm......CLICK HERE. All I can say is YUMMMMMMM!

Together

Yay! I got some time to do the Sketchy Thursday Challenge over at Design By Diana. I used some of my nummy Bella Blvd. stuff!

I thought this ribbon gathering technique was perfect here with the trees! I love that printed paper with the trees! So darn cute!

This great photo was taken at the University of Washington Campus in Seattle. My brother-in-law and hubby took the kids there to shoot some really cool photos! If ya wanna see more pics from that day, CLICK HERE! Unfortunately I was at work, but they took some great photos that day! There are photos of my kids, my nephew Samual who is in the photo used for this layout, and my totally cute cousins! Yes! My cousins are the same age as my kids...he he. There are 3 of them and they are such great boys!

I thought the circles needed something....so I glued some twine around the edges. I used some clear drying glue (Tombo) I believe. It stayed put...I had no problems with it sliding around so I was super happy. I cut the circles with my Circle Scissor Plus

This tool is awesome and soooo easy to use. I LOVE IT! CLICK HERE for product info! If you do decide you wanna scoop up one of these bad boys and don't already have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I would love for you to PICK ME!!!
Wanna see all the FANTABULOUS Bella Blvd line called Family Tree which I used in this project! CLICK HERE
Welp! Hope you had fun peeking!

Father's Day Fun!

Hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day! My dad and my hubby had some fun playing golf together all day long! After they got home, we headed over to my Uncle's house less than 10 minutes down the road and had dinner there with my parents, another aunt, and family friends.

It was a rainy day today, but we managed to be able to eat outside undercover before it drizzled again! We discussed our upcoming camping trip! I'm in charge of games, I guess. Got any suggestions? There will be lots of little kids since my Uncle is only 2 years older than I am and my cousins are in grade school! So far I've got water guns, a water balloon fight, a scavenger hunt, and an art project. I'd love to hear more ideas!

Here is the card I made for my dad. It was a quick one because of the rub ons and the blue chipboard letters!

Here's the one I made for my hubby. The kids call him Papa instead of Dad or Daddy. He doesn't like being called Daddy anyway. Another easy card using scraps and black Thickers!

Luke opened the present my daughter made for him in school. What a cute project! They made a little book for their fathers. They were instructed to bring a photo of themselves with or without their fathers.

Now, my daughter finished Kindergarten, so they are learning how to sound things out and spell unfamiliar words the way that they sound. It's sooooooo cute to see what she comes up with! My husband's name is Luke! We chuckled a lot while reading this adorable book.

My husband works for USPS, so his job is "melingleters". And he plays Mafia Wars on Facebook: "play gams on Mof yo wors".....heh heh heh heh!

My husband LOVES to eat Pho or "fu"...it's basically this Vietnamese soup with noodles.

This book is going to be well taken care of! How precious!

I will leave you with a couple super cute videos about Dads!
Have a wonderful week!

I got some GIRLY LOVIN'.........Dream Girl lovin' that is!

What a surpise to pop over to the Dream Girls Challenge Blog to find out that........

I'M THE CHALLENGE 29 WINNER!

Remember that card up there?????? She won!

Wooohoooo! On my quest to find more challenges, I found the Dream Girls. Sure, I've stumbled over the site before.....but now i've been reeled into the challenges!

All the entries were gorgeous! I can't believe it! And this was a scrap card!......see the olive paper? That was the leftover piece from some flower making!
CLICK HERE if you want to see a list of materials on the last blog post I did about this card.
Yay! Wanna see what I won?
Papers from Collage Press!

Thanks Dream Girls! And thanks for everyone's sweet comments!

Okay, I still feel like I owe you guys some new eye candy! So here's an OLD card I made.....he he! Remember that weaving card????? Well, here's the prototype. This was my first draft.

It's got a really different look from the one I made the video tutorial on! It's distressed, grungy, and masculine!

Instead of embroidery floss (as in the video), I used twine. It wasy a bit harder to work into knots, but it's a whole different look! Another option would be to use ribbon instead of twine or embroidery thread.....lots of different options here!
You could even crochet that net using a huge crochet hook! That actually might be easier than making all those knots!
Here's the video if ya wanna take a peek!

Thanks for visiting me today! Got any ideas on a new video tutorial? Any techniques you wanna see? I'm stumped...I missed a video for May!!!!! I will need to make it up somehow but I don't know if I have the energy for two June tutorials! Maybe two in July?

Hot Mama Apron and a GIVEAWAY!

I have been LOOKING and LOOKING for a super cute apron! Funny thing is I HATE COOKING......but I figure, if I can make it more fun and fashionable...I might like it better??????? I ALMOST got this apron at Pier 1 Imports just the other day...but then I thought.....ya know, you could totally get one on Etsy and help support an Etsy owner! So I put the apron back. Yay me!

Then, I went blog hopping today and found this awesome Etsy store called Boojiboo! It is toooooo toooooo super dee duper cute! This is the apron I soooooo want! I also am trying to decide between the one above and this one:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE black and white and LOVE LOVE LOVE turquoise! Sooooooo perfect! But I'm worried about the white :( Hmmmmmmm.
Anyway! You can ALSO enter a giveaway for one of these babies! HERE you can read a review and enter the giveaway at The Giveaway Diva Blog! You can also enter lots of other giveaways there! This giveaway ends on the 21st so HURRY! There are soooo many ways to enter! Check it out!
Which one do you think I should choose????????

The Luau

Okay! Here are the photos from Saturday night when we celebrated my little sis' college graduation from the University of Washington!!!

She was born in Hawaii....and my mom decide to make it this fun Hawaiian theme! My parents have always been VERY social and have hosted countless of parties at their home. We've got a big family and quite a bit of extended family and friends and we all get together every so often!

Here are my oh-so-beautiful sisters Emmy and Krystal! Don't you just love the Hawaiian shirt drink cozy my sister has on her beer????? Mom got a bunch of them! She cracks me up!

Here are my best friends (mom and my sisters)! My mom is next to me. Check out her hula girl apron! She got one for my dad (a male version)...but he REFUSED to wear it!

Instead, he chose to wear this hat!!!!!! My sister Emmy and I got it for him to wear.....but thought we would have to get a few drinks in him to do it. But no! He put the thing on IMMEDIATELY! I have to say, this outfit WAS way cooler!

Luke (Hubby) and Gabe. My men!

Me and the UW graduate! Like my coconut shells????? My other sister was the bartender....she actually USED to be a bartender in real life during college!

Me and my son Gabe. I bought him a grass skirt...but he decided that boys don't wear them and took it right off!

Emmy (the bartender sis) and I...drinks in hand. I managed to make it into work the next day......barely! Let's just say it was a rough day!

My son Gabe, Isabel (my daughter) and a family friend.

And I'm not sure if I shared this yet! This is the LO I did for one of the challenges during the Plum Star Search over at Vintage Plum! I used Krystal's photo....in celebration of her graduation.

I used another one of my canvas embellishments from Krafty Kates (at Etsy) made my by friend Jess and her mom.

For the first time I made my own felt flower! The stitching was so fun! I enjoyed doing this LO!

The title says "Where Flowers Bloom, You Will Find Fairies".
If you can't read it, the journaling says: When my baby sister Krystal was born, it was like a magical fairy touched my life. She has always amazed me with her MANY talents.
It ends with a quote: "Spread your wings and let the fairy in you fly."

I used papers from my Vintage Plum June Kit! I still have a TON of my June kit to use up!!!!

Happy Tuesday everybody!!!! I hope to find some scrappy time today between laundry loads!
