Hey you Guuuuys!

This one's a quick post today!
Layout inspired by prompt on These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things challenge blog....MOVIES. You can scrap your fave movie or movie quote...I did both!

My ALL TIME FAVE MOVIE....THE GOONIES!!!!!!
I thought it was sooooooo cool to treasure hunt as a kid so this movie was exciting! What's cooler, is my kids LOVE IT TOO! When it's on tv, we watch it together and I love that.

I found the photo and map on Flickr and printed it! I stamped the pirate ship and "x marks the spot" with a set called Ahoy Matey by Stampin' Up! (retired). The edges of the layout were distressed with my tool by Making Memories and I also smeared some distressed stickles (antique linen) to get an effect similar to sand....kinda looks like it in person!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week! I'm hoping to get lotsa scrapping in cuz I've got a 5 day stretch off starting Wednesday!!!! Yeeee haaaaawwww!
Supplies: Stampin' Up!, Making Memories, Ranger, and Luxe Designs.
What's YOUR favorite movie?
Can you name what movie this quote is from?
"...I do a great impression of a hot dog..."

Mo

Girlz Nite! Awwwwww yeah!!!!

Yay! Another layout inspired by Sketchy Thursdays at Diana's Blog! You have till next Wednesday to upload your creation if you wanna play along!

I flipped the sketch for this layout and it looks a little different.

Here are "my girlz"....I've known them all for maybe 15 years or so...maybe more! I just love them! I'm the one decked out in the Halloween colors...and no...it wasn't Halloween. I think it was December...he he.

I used my September Kit from Vintage Plum called Fashion Forward. Boy, I'm getting hit with lots of sad news. This is VP's last kit. Booo hoo....seriously, I'm tearing up. Fortunately, they will be focusing on making their Vintage Plum papers...and selling them on Etsy (I think). Jenny over at VP has been so awesome, so sweet, and I really love the kits over there....LOVE THEM ALL! They will be selling the rest of the inventory until they're out but are keeping the forum and galleries open. I'll be lost without my VP kits...but I'll have the forum and the lovely ladies I have met!
Good Luck to Vintage Plum! I love you guys!

See that dress form? That's a VP paper. It rocks, doesn't it?

And I've been stitching as well. So happy I got a sewing machine a few years ago! Now, it's being used! My sewing machine is not feeling neglected anymore.
So, if there is a VP kit you've been eyeing, head on over and scoop it up before they are out. I'm thinking about getting me another August/Fashion Forward Kit!
Sigh.............................

supplies: french dress forms (vintage plum), haute couture - fashionista collection (graphic 45), shutterspeed - communique collection (graphic 45), knave alphabet stickers - knave of hearts collection (collage press), fashionista tags - fashionista collection - (graphic 45), rub-ons - borders IV (luxe designs), worn grid redmond stencil chipboard alphabet (scenic route), top note die cut - MoMoStamper Etsy Store, white Signo gel pen (uni-ball), yellow and orange textured card stock (dcwv)

Hugs,
Mo

Need some prayers and well wishes....

See my little nephew there in the middle? He's in the hospital and not doing too well. Grandpa (my dad) found him lethargic yesterday when he came home from work and it seems the poor baby is sooo dehydrated. Last night he was barely moving and they couldn't register a temperature or blood pressure. They are trying to give him fluid right now in hopes of turning him around. At this point, we're not sure if he has an infection, ingested something poisonous, or is bleeding somewhere. We really don't know. He needs to be stabilized first before any further testing. My sister, Krystal (all the way on the right) is his mommy. She's not doing too well either. But, this morning, he's opened his eyes and is looking around. Hopefully he'll be up for visitors in the next couple of hours. Please keep little Diego in your prayers.

Okay, on a more fun note, here is my layout for the Dream Girls Challenge 34 called White It Out. And, I had to fudge a little, cuz I don't have a lot of white materials...so I did the best I could.

This is a photo of my nephew, Samual. If I ever had to admit that there was a baby out there that rivaled the cuteness of my Gabe, it's this little guy! Actually, I'll just admit it....he's cuter! He is soooo adorable! I will have to find a photo showing his beautiful hair one day and share it! You can see a little curl peeking out of that hat.

Here's a close up of the journaling and the vintage MoMoStamper flowers.

I also used some die cut top notes (behind the photo). I'm planning on stocking my Etsy store with them soon.

I love the look of the ribbon behind the flowers. After securing the ribbon onto the page with adhesive, I then stitched it down the middle. I too have caught on to the stitching craze! I'm sooooo glad I got a sewing machine a few years ago!
I used a mix of clear and white buttons and brads. I soooo had to try hard not to put a splash of color on this page! But, I love the way it looks now!
supply list: beige textured card stock (Bazill), white card stock (Michael's), vintage flowers and vintage top notes (MoMoStamper Etsy Store), white flowers (Prima), buttons and brads (Making Memories), chipboard (Scenic Route - worn grid redmond stencil), white ribbon (Martha Stewart)
Have a great weekend yall!

Mo

Autumn!

I've said it before....I LOVE Autumn. Aaaaah! Falling leaves, the crisp air, boots and fall fashion! Creating this layout got me excited for Fall!

This is another layout using some papers from my Scrap Freak Kit as GDT. It was inspired by the last Sketchy Thursdays Sketch over at Design by Diana.

These cute photos were taken in the Autumn of 2008 at The University of Washington campus. (Photos by CKao Photography.com).

Close up of the journaling (above).

I used the raw chipboard....didn't do anything else to it....thought it looked great just the way it was!

Broke into some metal charms that have been sitting in a box for awhile! I'm not big on hearts, but it looks soooo cute on this layout!
Here's what I used:
(* = available at Scrapfreak.com store)

orange card stock - Bazill
*Collage Press card stock - Loveable - Knave Of Hearts Collection
*Jenni Bowlin - die cut paper (farmer's wife)
*Jenni Bowlin printed paper (red cabbage)
Stampin' Up! - Old Olive card stock
DCWV textured card stock
ribbon - Stampin' Up!
Liquid Pearls - Ranger
*chipboard Alphas - Maya Road
vintage flower - MoMoStamper Etsy Store
flower and button - Making Memories
metal heart charm - JoAnn
*rub ons - Jenni Bowlin
I'm excited for summer to end and ready to take on some serious projects! About this time, I start my Christmas shopping!
Here's my thought.....I'm NOT going to subject myself (and my children) to crowds of people in enclosed spaces.....if you were worried about the swine flu worries last year when the school season was wrapping up...wait till the ACTUAL FLU SEASON hits! So, I don't think we'll be going to any Holiday parties or Holdiay shopping in the malls this year. I hardly ever set foot in the malls between November and January anyway....I HATE crowds!
So, I'm shopping online and a little in stores until October. I also start making handmade gifts! I'm sooo excited!
I hope you all have a great rest of the week!
So, now that you know MY favorite season, tell me which one is yours!
Hugs,
Mo

DUDE! And a tree too!

I forgot I did this one! He he...a photo of the layout was sitting in my camera just hanging out! I love this old photo of me and my Hubby. It was taken back in the days of hugs, kisses and dating (2002)...now it's more like sighing, farting and honey do lists (I'm NOT the one doing the farting....usually)...plus a beer belly! He he.

This LO was inspired by the prompt on the Pink Ninja's called DUDES!

I used he kit they put together for me as GDT at Scrap Freak. I also got to use my new bottle of Perfect Pearls (from my Vintage Plum kit)!

And here's another for the Scrap Freak DT gallery! These are photos of my Uncle Eddie (Mom's baby bro) and his family. I always wanted an older sibling...and in the late 90's my Uncle moved here from Hawaii with his new wife. Since then, it's like I suddenly had an older brother (2 years older).

I remember as a kid visiting my mother's family in the Philippines...was about 3 or so. My dad kept on toting aroung this little boy.....man was I MAD AT THIS KID! Who did he think he was, stealing the affections of my Daddy! He he. It was my Uncle Eddie...my earliest memory of him...I wanted to beat him up! Now, it's a priceless memory.

He's an awesome husband and father. My Aunt's pretty awesome too. They've got 3 sweet boys. I'm so lucky to be part of the lives of my cousins and see them grow....so lucky!

You'll see more layouts of them in it!

Here's the journaling.

I added some Distressed Stickles to the fruit in the tree...I think they are pears? It is soooo much fun using this stuff!

There's Tristan biting his lip....a habit he can't seem to kick! We always remind him "your lip...your lip" and he smiles!

I got that turquoise shell button in the button section at JoAnn's....got a package or about $2.99! Yes, I hope you don't get sick of seeing them in my scrappy creations! He he!

Wow! I STAMPED......ON A CARD!

For a while now, I've neglected my stamps! I'm on this scrapbooking kick right now! Can't seem to stamp or make cards...so I'm soooo glad I had an opportunity to do this for the Simply Obsessed Crop!

The challenge was to pick a quote and use it on the card. This is what I came up with!

I used that Perfect Pearls stuff...I think that's what it's called. I gooped it on the chipboard heart (by Stampin' Up!).
My Fiskars cutter blade is dull...see the edge, but I liked it! I've since changed the blade out, but kept the old dull one for use when I want that raggedy look at the edges! I can't seem to throw anything away these days! HELP!

I used some thickers I got on sale for $2!!!! Yup! I shoulda bought the whole stinkin' rack! Oh well. I still managed to drop $150 on a buncha stuff....everything was %50 off at the Paper Zone near my house (they were moving). Wooohooo!

The pp is Lime Rickey! And the stamp is by Provo! If you have any questions on what I've used...don't hesitate to email me! I'm short on blogging time these days, so I'm cutting out the materials lists that I usually do. I'm not sure everyone gets any use out of them, so PLEASE feel free to email me on any questions and I'd be happy to answer them via email!

HAPPY SATURDAY! On the agenda today, we're hanging out with my sis who's visiting from California. And maybe hanging in Seattle on Sunday going to the aquarium and possibly another trip to the zoo! We'll see!
What are YOU planning to do!?
Hugs,
Mo

So, over the next few days, I'll have some projects to share! I've only got time to post 1 today, because I've got to get a few work hours in! I dunno, an overcast day might mean a busy day at the Walk-In-Clinic! Work day, go easy on me!!!! No full moon, I hope...nothing wacky please!

Here's layout of my cousin. He's sooooooo stinkin cute! He's 6 now! I absolutely love this kid. He LOVES art and is always asking to watch me while I scrapbook! He thinks it soooo cool! When I pick him up from school, he's always got paint all over his hands and clothes...sometimes his hair! Look at that dimple!

I made this out of one of the Simply Obsessed Kits! It's full of Lime Rickey stuff!. The Chipboard wasn't part of the kit, although it's Lime Rickey too. AND the kit is on sale today! They were having a special kit on sale every day.

This kit is actually $15 TODAY!!! Yah! I think you can also purchase the other kits that were on sale earlier in the week! So hurry and pop over there! Here's a link to help you HERE!

Happy Birthday to.........

HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY SIMPLY OBSESSED!

Hi All! If you're hopping over from another Simply Obsessed member blog, MY WARMEST WELCOME! To my awesome blog friends who take time to visit me, THANKS FOR STOPPING BY! Hop along and get ready for some major eye candy! (Note: blog hop officially starts at 6 pm today, August 16 PST). So check back later and everyone should have their projects ready to go!

To (mostly) keep with the theme, I've created some new Birthday craftiness! The first is a layout I made using photos from my Mom's birthday last December. My sisters and I nicknamed her "Lady." I've always thought addressing someone by "lady" sounded funny. "Thanks for your help, lady." or "Hey lady, do you need help with your bags?" just sounds funny! About ten years ago, I was called "lady" for the very first time by this little boy (I was 23 at the time....it made me feel soooo old). It also cracked me up! That day, I saw my Mom and immediately started calling her "hey lady" especially when she thought being called "lady" didn't sound so bad. By the end of the day, she agreed....it sounds kinda weird. We laughed and laughed...and the name stuck!

I created this layout almost entirely using the August Obsession Kit from Simply Obsessed. I love the turquoise add on ribbon I bought!

The ghost clock is awesome and I'm loving the fabric flower and hat pins. I love kit clubs because I am able to play with scrappy awesomeness that I wouldn't normally buy or use!

I purchased these corner stamps too. I love them! I can't wait to use them on cards.

He he...those sequins make me giggle! Soooooo CUTE!

Here's another close up for your viewing pleasure!

My poor hubby is always stuck at work, so he isn't able to make it to a lot of the birthday dinners we have :( One day, he'll have a dayshift job...I hope!

Scrappy Numminess used:

textured card stock - Pinecone - Bazzil

"tailored" pp -French Couture - Lilybee

Alphabeans card stock stickers - bean brown - Jillibean Soup

die cut frame - Lilybee
turquoise lace - May Arts

white sequins - Clarice Inc.

leaf pins - Maya Road

brown velvet stitched blossom - Maya Road

ghost clock - Heidi Swapp

assorted buttons - Foof Ala

emotion clear corners stamp - Heidi Swapp

self-adhesive bling borders - jet- Heidi Swapp

Color Box fluid chalk inkpads - chestnut roan
Pigma Micorn 03 journaling pen - #49 Sakura

Now, the next couple of projects just kinda "happened". Between creating my Blog Hop layouts, I would clean my space and I came across a few scraps here and there. The following 2 cards were then fashioned out of scraps I found in arms reach! No kidding! How cool is that?

It started with my daughter handing me a stack of yellow flowers (see below). She had snipped off the points on them. They were actually part of a stack I had given HER which were reject flowers! I had run a bunch through my die-cut machine (Sizzix Big Shot) and some of the points were cut off. Instead of trashing them (guilt guilt guilt)...I immediately gave them to my daughter and said "look what I made for you"! He he.....boy am I happy I gave them to her! I love what she did with them! Isabel...my little blossoming crafter!
Since these were scraps, I can't quite remember where they came from so I'll just tell you what I remember. That green button is Making Memories, the die cut book flower is actually cut from a vintage book...I sell them on my Etsy Store...I know I keep on putting these flowers on my projects...I hope you all aren't too sick of them...I JUST CAN'T STOP USING THEM! They creep into my projects! He he! It's a phase, bear with me, one day I'll grow out of it!
At the top right hand corner, I layered a rub-on over a larger rub-on.
The solid pieces of cardstock are from Stampin' Up! (old olive and not quite navy).

Okay, on to the next card...which, in keeping with the Birthday theme, IS a birthday card. This too was created from scraps within reach. I really like the way this one turned out! I found that butterfly lying there, ALL INKED and ready to be fancied up! I just inked the edges and added the extra flower, button and tulle!

"Celebrate You" is actually a rub on.

That ticket stub looking piece that says "tru frnd" is actually one of the hostess stamp sets in the Stampin' Up! catalog. It's a set of 6 stamps (called "Admit It") which you can only earn as a Hostess. Go HERE for information on being a Hostess. Don't live near Bothell, Washington? No problem, contact me and we can talk about a Virtual Catalog Party!

And my final project to share was created using Diana's sketch at Sketchy Thursdays! This girl's sketchin' skills are ROCKIN'! Every week, I'm drawn to the sketch! Sometimes, I'm not able to get time to create, but I peek at it and always feel inspired! FYI, she's having a DT Call! So, if you're interested, apply! The current sketch challenge is going until end of day Wednesday, so if you wanna participate, create a layout using the sketch below and go to Diana's blog and link up! The winner gets a RAK! Diana has been awesome with supporting Etsy Shops, so if you would like to contribute a RAK, I'm sure she would love to hear from you as well!

Here's my layout!

This is a layout of photos from my 9th Birthday in 1985. Three of my childhood friends were in the photos: Mary Lou, Jeanette, and Christy. We spent the day at Chuck E Cheese. This was one of my most memorable birthday parties, thanks to my Mom and Dad.

Here's the sketch:

I got to bust out my July Obsession Kit from Simply Obsessed! LOVE IT! Lovin' the Lime Rickey!
The day I took the pictures, it was overcast. I did my best with Photoshop....but it's still a little dim. Today, it's sunny out....silly Washington weather!

I used bits and pieces off some pp I had (Sparrow by Jenni Bowlin). I liked how it looked aged (faux vintage...he he)!

Here's another one of my vintage die cut flowers from MoMoStamper Store! NOT faux vintage! I used a real vintage books to make them. They are a mix of a botany book and a vintage novel.

Another fun angle. I'm practicing my PICTURING skillz! I'm going to earn the right to buy one of those nice camera's...by golly...followed closely by earning the money...or getting the DH to buy it for my bday next March!
For those of you that would like the supply list:
