To My Valentine

I love the new poem up at Scrap That Poetry!  It's called "Ah, Yes! Love" by Clarence B. Campbell.
Again, I broke into my Vintage Plum Stash!
What a beautiful kit!

Sorry for the glare in this photo but I am not going to take another photo just to have one without the glare...I figured you ladies wouldn't mind.

The journaling reads (it's part of the poem):
"Ah, yes! Love

The transparency I used is to blame for all that glare (which I was able to correct pretty well with my Photoshop Elements).  I figure out how to do some cool things by trial and error while working on this layout.  I put on some of this ink, intending to color the inside of this heart a beautiful blue.  But I found out that it would NOT dry onto the transparency (duh)!  Luckily, as I placed my elbow over that area and discovered it was wet, I DID NOT smear it all over my beautiful page!!!  I then placed another transparency over it to blot it and got this cool look.  Now....to seal it....I added some of that clear-drying glue/craft laquer (Stampin' Up! calls it Crystal Effects) but they do sell another brand at Michaels.

I used lots of Liquid Pearls and Stickles for all that added zing!  I had another photo that wouldn't upload...but you get the idea of how they look, right?  If not, I'm sure if you click on the full layout you get a big gigantic photo.  For a supply list check HERE.

Well, that's it!  I'm loving this layout!  I think I'll frame it and give it to Luke for Valentines...along with something else he might like such as golf-related stuff.

Hope your week has been great!  Thanks for visiting!  What are you doing this weekend?  I'm skiing on a GIRLS ONLY trip!  Woohooo!

Hugs,
Mo

Is bubbles and beauty and lantern light,
Music and madness and dizzy height,
Tender words,
And a star-filled night!"

This verse went PERFECTLY with my photo taken around Valentine's Day one year (Hubby and I argue if it's 2005 or 2006..I think he's right but I didn't tell him that...wink wink).  So contrary to what I thought, this was taken in '06 NOT '05.  Anyway, my POINT IS....we saw this dinner show at a place in Seattle called "Teatro Zinzanni" where you have dinner while they perform all around you.  There's music, singing, acting, comedy, lots of costumes and make-up, and even acrobats!  Oh, it is sooooooo amazing! Oh!  AND FACE PAINTING! (See how it talks about that in the poem????)  I hoped to go this year, but Hubs was too late on booking the tickets (ahem....Mo was actually too late in reminding him)!

Side note...I've figured that I have to help romance along by sending links to what I want for special occasions and telling him what I want for Anniversaries and Valentines Day...etc.  I started last Christmas and have been VERY VERY VERY HAPPY.  I didn't think I could be... at first...because my gifts would not be HIS idea but MINE.  Then, I realized IT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME...cuz I get what I want and I'm not moping around when other people talk about what THEY got!  Sorry, it's not the thought that counts with him...because when he's stressed...he doesn't think clearly...he he!  Examples (clothes purchased online that don't fit...not even close (SMALL UNISEX is NOT SMALL!!!), ANOTHER gift certificate to a place for which he's already given me 3 previous ones, a framed piece of artwork that SUCKED (not my style at all...and he payed WAY TOO MUCH for it), and the most INFAMOUS present....BIG FAT NOTHING...not even a card...or flowers).  Yep, I remember stomping upstairs that day after yelling and slamming the door behind me.  It was not a good year for us that year.  Sigh.

So we will be celebrating our 8 year anniversary this May...yep...it took me THAT LONG...to figure out I needed to SPELL OUT WHAT I WANT!  It's a win-win situation!  With those I love, I'm not great at compromise....I want what I want...yes, I know I'm spoiled....I'm a brat.  But they never tell me...that's why when I realized this a few years a go...I shocked myself...heh heh!  More on that another time.  I stumbled across some cool techniques while working on this layout!

Lukalicious!

Here's my take on the latest Sketchy Thursday Sketch!  I used two photos...but in a different way!  I trimmed two photos down so they came together in a square.

He he....Lukalicious is his geeky nickname!  LOL!  And NO that's NOT what I call him!
I used a tag I got from theschoollocker.com.  I put the flower over the hole of the tag so I could use it as a journaling spot.

Once again, I've used a kit from Simply Obsessed:  June Kit (2009) Jenni Bowlin & Graphic 45.  This kit is too cute!
I've got a subscription from SO....I've loved the kits so far!  This particular one I got on sale for about 40% off a few months back!  It was an AWESOME deal!
The Simply Obsessed forum is very friendly and the up coming kits should be pretty cool as well!!!  So you should head over there and check them out!

I titled this layout "My Man".....my man ALL THE TIME!  "Mo's Man of the Week" may come and go...but this one sticks around!  He he!

Well!  This one's a quickun!  I got TONS of laundry to do! Yuck!  I best get to workin'!
So, what do ya have planned for the weekend?  I'm hoping to take a trip to the Pumpkin Patch with the kiddies on Sunday....I hope it doesn't rain!  Hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Hugs,
Mo

Remembering the Butterflies.....sigh

He he...I get the giggles remembering how goofy my Hubby and I were in the beginning. I remember the butterflies in my stomach. That's what inspired this layout, along with the September layout to-be-jacked (by Vanessa) at Scrapjacked. Finally, I got to play along with these awesome gals!!!

There I am...goofy in love. Luke and I actually met a year prior to dating...both in different relationships. Then one day, everything was in line...and things happened..and they happened quickly. I remember the very first time I laid eyes on him. There wasn't anything super special like an instant attraction. I just remember that day for some reason and I remember looking at him. I was working as a bank teller and he was new. A week or 2 later, we met and worked together. Still no instant attraction...just a mutual like and respect for each other. I thought he was a nice guy. At the time, I had an affinity for jerks...so, of course, I wasn't instantly attracted to this nice guy...he he!

Anyway, about a year later the stars aligned and it was our time. I little over a year after that...we were married. And I'm gonna be geeky and say, one day I looked at him...and I just knew.

Well, here we are over 8 years later with 2 kids. Things are great...challenging at times...but I've accepted the fact that marriage is a challenge and definitely not as easy as I thought. You know how you can just unleash your worst at the ones you love the most???? Sometimes I'm such an ogre to this guy! Don't let the sweet smile fool you, I'm sure I can be a real you-know-what!

Bless this man for putting up with me! I was struck by a part of a poem I read and I used it for my journaling. It reminded me of that time in my life when I was drunk with love! It's so nice to remember and a good reminder of how lucky I am.

I used my August Kit from Simply Obsessed. Love that kit! Love em all! The kits are so in-sync with my tastes....girly, modern and vintagey...everything I love! My wallet has been resisting a new subscription...but I give in...because the October kit is awesome!!!!!
I was so relieved that this vinyl rub on worked out in the end. I was holding my breath the whole time!!!! First, it seemed to get lost in all the pattern because of the color...but then I added the Distressed Stickles and then the....BAM!...happened...you know what I mean? The feeling you have when you know it worked out.

I added more of it to the chip board letters. Me LOVE it!!!!
Well, there's my love story! Today is my Saturday, so I hope to blog visit and forum chat as well as scrap and read a little from book 4 of The Black Dagger Brotherhood books!
Tomorrow I go to the dentist.....GRIMACE!!!! Wish me luck! Lets just say....I love candy and all that is sugary and bad for my teeth!!! Have a good week lovely ladies!

Mo

DUDE! And a tree too!

I forgot I did this one! He he...a photo of the layout was sitting in my camera just hanging out! I love this old photo of me and my Hubby. It was taken back in the days of hugs, kisses and dating (2002)...now it's more like sighing, farting and honey do lists (I'm NOT the one doing the farting....usually)...plus a beer belly! He he.

This LO was inspired by the prompt on the Pink Ninja's called DUDES!

I used he kit they put together for me as GDT at Scrap Freak. I also got to use my new bottle of Perfect Pearls (from my Vintage Plum kit)!

And here's another for the Scrap Freak DT gallery! These are photos of my Uncle Eddie (Mom's baby bro) and his family. I always wanted an older sibling...and in the late 90's my Uncle moved here from Hawaii with his new wife. Since then, it's like I suddenly had an older brother (2 years older).

I remember as a kid visiting my mother's family in the Philippines...was about 3 or so. My dad kept on toting aroung this little boy.....man was I MAD AT THIS KID! Who did he think he was, stealing the affections of my Daddy! He he. It was my Uncle Eddie...my earliest memory of him...I wanted to beat him up! Now, it's a priceless memory.

He's an awesome husband and father. My Aunt's pretty awesome too. They've got 3 sweet boys. I'm so lucky to be part of the lives of my cousins and see them grow....so lucky!

You'll see more layouts of them in it!

Here's the journaling.

I added some Distressed Stickles to the fruit in the tree...I think they are pears? It is soooo much fun using this stuff!

There's Tristan biting his lip....a habit he can't seem to kick! We always remind him "your lip...your lip" and he smiles!

I got that turquoise shell button in the button section at JoAnn's....got a package or about $2.99! Yes, I hope you don't get sick of seeing them in my scrappy creations! He he!
