Highway ROBBERY!

I ALMOST forgot to submit my entry for the last Sketchy Thursdays!  He he!  I'm excited because now I can have a chance at winning the prizes!

This card was fun.  It's been awhile since I've made one.  I need to make more!

Last weekend I took my sis Krystal and Isabel to Disney On Ice and it was a BLAST!  My favorite part was the part when the characters from Cars came out.  Way too cool.  At first I thought it would be mostly boring...but EVERYTIME I go to Disney On Ice I end up having fun!  I guess it's a reminder to me that I'm still a little kid at heart...you know?

There was a pre-show where you could see all the pretty princess dresses and Cinderella.

This is the closest we got to Cinderella....but I didn't try too hard cuz I don't like crowds of people.  Luckily, Bel didn't care!

Here she is enjoying her cotton candy with a smile!

Here's my girl having a great time!  Hubby stayed home with Gabe so that we could enjoy ourselves!

Krystal also loves Disney On Ice!  Bel's got on one of those hats that came with the cotton candy which cost about $7 for a bag!  She also got a water bottle full of lemonade and that was $10!  Yikes!  I also got her a "magic wand" with Princesses on it.  It lights up....and it cost $18!  But it was all worth the smile and giggles that came from my girl.  She's such a sweetheart and such a helper around the house.  She deserved her special evening with Mommy!

Later in the evening she saw some popcorn....um.....$6!!!!  I said NO WAAAAAAAYYYY!  Sheesh!  Anyway, I love this picture!  Krystal got a good shot with the stage!

The show was amazing, the costumes were fantastic and it really was worth all the money!  Maybe Gabe can come next year!

Are you ready for the weekend?  Got any cool plans?  Of course...I will be watching the Pacquiao fight!  Go Manny!!!!  There's nothing like a gang of Filipinos watching an Pacquiao fight....it's almost as entertaining as the actual fight!  He he!

Go Pac Man!!!!

Mo

Wow! I STAMPED......ON A CARD!

For a while now, I've neglected my stamps! I'm on this scrapbooking kick right now! Can't seem to stamp or make cards...so I'm soooo glad I had an opportunity to do this for the Simply Obsessed Crop!

The challenge was to pick a quote and use it on the card. This is what I came up with!

I used that Perfect Pearls stuff...I think that's what it's called. I gooped it on the chipboard heart (by Stampin' Up!).
My Fiskars cutter blade is dull...see the edge, but I liked it! I've since changed the blade out, but kept the old dull one for use when I want that raggedy look at the edges! I can't seem to throw anything away these days! HELP!

I used some thickers I got on sale for $2!!!! Yup! I shoulda bought the whole stinkin' rack! Oh well. I still managed to drop $150 on a buncha stuff....everything was %50 off at the Paper Zone near my house (they were moving). Wooohooo!

The pp is Lime Rickey! And the stamp is by Provo! If you have any questions on what I've used...don't hesitate to email me! I'm short on blogging time these days, so I'm cutting out the materials lists that I usually do. I'm not sure everyone gets any use out of them, so PLEASE feel free to email me on any questions and I'd be happy to answer them via email!

HAPPY SATURDAY! On the agenda today, we're hanging out with my sis who's visiting from California. And maybe hanging in Seattle on Sunday going to the aquarium and possibly another trip to the zoo! We'll see!
What are YOU planning to do!?
Hugs,
Mo

A Mother's Day Card!

Sorry I've been MIA! Lots of stuff going on! Work has been hectic at the Walk-In-Clinic...does that say it all? Just got over some stomachy thing...yeah, fun times! I haven't grown a pig snout yet, so don't worry! Nuff said!

On with the show! Well, I managed to slam out a few projects, thanks to all the wonderful challenges by the Vintage Plum Girls! You guys are awesome! I was able to spend a block of time on sunday May 3rd croppin' the day away at the VP Crop for National Scrapbooking Day (well, day after technically). Anyway, I will be sharing my creations within the next couple of weeks!

For Mother's Day, I created a card to give my wonderful mother! Shhhh, don't tell! This was a fun one!

This challenge was for Beth's "Wild Kingdom" challenge where you use an animal in your creation. As you can see, my card wasn't that wild at all.....pretty peaceful if you ask me! But I love the way the card turned out! What's cool is that you could use it for different occasions! I just stamped a "Happy Mother's Day" greeting inside and ta-dah...a Mother's Day Card!

Make a bunch of these and keep it next to a greeting stamp set, envelopes and a black ink pad. Then, all you have to do is stamp your sentiment and there you are!

How cute is that?
I'm lovin' the ribbon "grass". This card is great for Spring and Summertime giving!

What did I use to make this, you ask????

Here's a list:

Stamps
Best Wishes and More (Item # 111602)

Ink
Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad
Signo White Gel Pen

Paper/Card Stoc
Kraft
Ballet Blue
Baja Breeze

Accessories
Big Shot by Sizzix
Bigz Top Note
Birds & Blooms: Large Flower, Scallop Circles, and Bird
Old Olive Ribbon
Stampin' Dimensionals
Twine
Stapler
Yellow button brad by Making Memories

Below is a photo of the stamp set I used! This set is pretty handy! Look! It covers the seasons! You even have a heart! It's very versatile and a good buy! (I got it free when I attended the Stampin' Up! Regionals in Seattle!) I've used it LOTS since I got it!

Don't have it? Want it? I can help! You can purchase from me 24/7 from my Stampin' Up! website (maureenkao.stampinup.net)! And they can ship directly to YOU! If you already have a Demonstrator, though, please order from them :) Sorry, United States orders only!

*I did some faux stitching around the edges of the Top Note piece with my Signo Gel Pen (really, you gotta get one).

*I used the gathered ribbon technique to form "grass". Haven't tried this technique yet? It's fun! I learned it from Kristina Werner! Want to see it? I pasted it to an old post, so CLICK HERE and scroll down to find the video.

*I love this set because I don't have to worry about stamping the sentiment on straight!!! I didn't have that nervous feeling, cuz you know it's not meant to be straight!!! No pressure!

Just for fun, I thought I'd mention that the stamp set has a COORDINATING kit! It's the Petal Party Simply Scrappin Kit (Item # 113059). I sooooo want this!

Okay! So, go ahead Make that Mother's Day card TODAY!

Don't have a Big Shot but still want this card? Give me a few days, I'm going to put some up on my Etsy Shop (MoMoStamper): momostamper.etsy.com! Got any ideas for Etsy Shop items? Just ask...and maybe you shall receive! I would love to hear your comments!

Bear with me....I hope to post over the weekend but I have some custom invitations I'm making for a client! This is my first endeavor in custom cardmaking!

I hope to have inspired!

For all the mom's out there, you guys ROCK! From the bottom of my heart,
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

P.S. Enter my BLOGOVERSARY GIVEWAY (the post before this one...or click on the photo on the top right hand corner of the blog for info!) GOOD LUCK!

My Swap Card for SU Seattle Regionals!

I've been so busy trying to make a bunch of these cards that I forgot to share it! Here's the swap card I made for the Stampin' Up! Regionals in Seattle. I attended the event yesterday 4/18/09. It was awesome. Watch out! I've got fresh new ideas I can't wait to share!

I recently got a Big Shot! I LOVE it! I already have a Cricut, but having a Big Shot IS DIFFERENT! I'll talk about his another time....I wanna get to the card so you can see it! Plus, I woke up early the morning of the Regionals so I could print out the recipe (supply list) on the back of my cards, but......MY PRINTER RAN OUT OF INK! Luckily I had some left over stickers with my name and blog website on it which I quickly slapped on to the backs of my swaps! So, for those SU Demos that need a supply list, see below! Sorry!

I went with my upline Caroline...I will have to ask her first if I can share her swap card which is...so beautiful! Wink Wink!
It was too much fun! The kids were at their grandparents' house and hubby was at work. I was in PARTY mode! But I only made 40! I had lots of fun putting the cards together while I watched Twilight (for probably the 7th time) and some Cameron Diaz movie called "What Stays In Vegas"...I think that's the title. It was a cute movie. Wow....it's soooooooo nice watching movies without interruptions or screaming and yelling...you know what I mean?

Supply List:

Stamp Set: A Beautiful Thing Item# 113618

Cardstock: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Good Morning Sunshine DSP

Accessories: Stampin' Dimensionals, VersaMark Pad, Big Shot, Daisies Flower #2, Birds & Blooms Bird

This card is super simple to make with the help of the Big Shot. I'm excited to use it for workshops now!

Here's a better look at the stamp set and printed paper (images below copyright Stampin' Up!):

Well, that was fun. I will have to put up a slideshow of all the beautiful cards I had the opportunity to see! Enjoy my explosion of sharing while it lasts...I have at least enough for 5 blog posts! I just need to find the time to post!

peaking of time.....my time is up today. I've got things to clean, little people to govern, books to read, potato salad to make....Have a great week!
