What I DON'T like about Mo!

Welcome Blog Hopees!!!
Thanks for visiting!  And thanks to my bloggy buddies who always find some time to visit me!  Kisses to you all!

As part of the All About Me Challenge Blog Design Team, I was excited to be part of this blog hop!

If you're here as part of the AAM blog hop, THANK YOU!  You probably hopped over from Arlene's blog...so you're on the right track!  If you started here at my blog and want to start at the tbe beginning of the hop....GO HERE!  (Um, you really should cuz there's lots of prizes to be had!)

The prompt is Self-Improvement, (Your Biggest Flaw)!
And here's ONE of mine!  Maybe some of you can relate????

You see, since 2007 I've been REALLY scrapping up a storm!  I found that I needed to upgrade from an armoir (where I used to keep all my craft supplies) to a WHOLE ROOM!  I got my wish in 2008 and took over the extra bedroom in the house.  My room GREW FAST!  Since then, I've managed to collect BUNCHES of craft supplies!  It's just about FILLED TO THE RIM (ya know, like Brim?)....tell me if you get that!  LOL!

I am running outta space in my craft room!  Yikes!

So, on this layout I used ONLY old stash items and bits and pieces of scraps I had...THAT WAS MY OWN RULE!

And I am TOO EMBARASSED to take a photo of my mess to show you all, so you have to settle for the mess I create on this layout!

Ugh...I also have tons of stuff like clothes, old CD's...uh....TAPES (whaaat?....yes), ripped old clothes (Hey, I might be able to use em on a layout.), shoes, old college papers (yah, like I'll ever read em again), old statements (Now how long do we need to keep that crap for tax purposes?) and...tons of other stuff.  My house is soooooooo stinking full of shtuff!  I NEED HELP!

So, here's some things I plan to do.

1) Sort through Craft Room and PURGE...whimper.
2) Collect old clothing and donate them.
3) Maybe have a garage sale (not likely, too much work).
4) Get rid of anything I haven't used in a couple years.
5) Give away or donate old kid things and toys.
6) Dig up all the stuff I've been hiding in the garage and give it away.
7) To buy something new, I have to get rid of or use something old in exchange.
(Mo, do I REALLY have to?.........YES!)
8) Stop buying things unless you have a plan to use it...right away. (I usually put my purchase aside and find it in a bag about a year later and remembering that I had a project planned which I never started....ugh...what a let down.)

That's all I've got so far!  If you have any other tips....PLEASE share!

And this leads into my next topic......HOW BOUT A GIVEAWAY!  (Hmmmm...maybe I'll have to do more of these to achieve my goal of Purging!)....hint hint!

Just leave a comment and give me a tip on how I can stop hoarding things or let me know what your flaw is (he he....c'mon share) and I will randomly pick a comment to win the prize!  Or you can even just leave me a comment on tips to achieve my purging goal!

And the lovely RAK below consists of everything in the photo!  Yes!  That you see there is a 12x12 pack of My Mind's Eye Designer Paper!  All these items are unused!  The stamp pad is still in the shrink wrap and comes with an unopened reinker (by Stampin' Up!)...YAH!  I have 8 1/2 x 11 heavy cardstock, a  paper crimper, a cute stamp set, cupcake liners in 2 sizes (the larger size is a foil liner), 4 large binding rings, mini book elements (printed paper, pages and covers) and assorted metal embellishments!  Just click on the photo for a good close up!

Pssst....guess what?  There's another giveaway (for a bracelet from my Etsy Store....YOU PICK)!

So, I've got my MoMoStamper Etsy shop I'm promoting through Facebook!   To enter this giveaway, just become a fan of my MoMoStamper FB page. Check it out.

Hold me, Grip me, Cherish me.....

Just a quick share!  I was going through some old pics and came across this one!  I forgot to share this card I made for Luke on our 7 year Anniversary!  At least, I don't think I did.

I found this cute stamp at this adorable shop in Bothell called "Stampin' In the Rain".

Luke loves to golf.  When it's sunny out, he gets to go on Sundays.  I've got my scrapbooking time and he's got his golf time!

I added some glitter (Stickles) and I loved it!  So BLINGIN' cute!
I also used embossing powder, so the image and sentiment is raised, but you can't really tell on the photo.  It helped the glitter stay in place and not end up a big blob.  I love this card!

And onto some other news.  I recently started a Facebook Fan Page for my MoMoStamper Etsy Store!  Last I checked I had 35 fans.  So.......I will be having a giveaway!!!!  Yes!  A bracelet will be up for grabs once I hit 200 fans!  So, the way to do this is spread the word for me!  If you're on FB, search "MoMoStamper Etsy Store" and you should find the Fan Page or click below.  You can become a fan on Facebook, blog about my fan page, spread the word on your FB page, Twitter, word of mouth....any way you can!  Just blab!  If you don't have a Facebook account, that's fine!  Just send me an email at momostamper(at)yahoo(dot)com if you talked about my store and how you did it.  That will enter you in the drawing!  You will get one entry for each way you spread the word, just let me know how you did it and provide a link (if you can)!  All Facebook Fans will get one submission and you don't have to email me to tell me you're already a fan, I will go through the names later!  Sound good?  Good!  Get to gabbin!  Here's a link:

I would also LOVE if you used a photo when and if you can!  The winner will be able to choose from the stock of bracelets I have on hand at the time!  But if you'd like pictures, just go to my MoMoStamper Etsy Store and use the photos there!

Thanks everyone for the support and also for visiting me!  Blogging has really contributed further to my love of scrapping!  I would not have had so much fun without all of the love, support and laughs I get from you all!  Thank you!!!!!  And tune in later this week.....I gots an announcement!  Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

Mo

Sassy Jewelry!

I've been creating for my MoMoStamper Etsy Store! I'm making lots of these sassy suckers to give away as gifts to my friends and nieces! This one's called Audrey.....that's my middle name.

Every time I make one....I wanna keep it!!!! LOL! This one's my fave! It's called Emmy (after my sis). I love the charms on this one!

Isabel like this one the best...so I named it after her. I'm going to make a smaller version for her and will also be adding more smaller sizes ideal for the little girls!

This one is the Krystal Wrap Bracelet....love those stones! It's named after my youngest sister.
I'm trying to get a feel for what styles people like (so i can make more of them), so if there's one you like the most...let me know! I would really be greatful for your insight!! Thanks everyone for your love and support!

Ooooooohhhhhh.....and check out the announcement today on Sketchy Thursdays!!!!! Giggle giggle. The next sketch should be up! This one's one of my faves!!!! Well done, Diana! Mosey on over and say hello to the lovely Diana and Heidi as well as the amazing ST DT!!! You guys soooo rock!

The Goofiness That Is Mo

I've been wanting to get DOWN AND DIRTY for the longest time!!!! With paints, that is! I'd been planning a layout in my mind...you know, the ones where you know there's something special brewing so you kind of hold off and see what surfaces.

It started the day I got the Shimmerz in the mail. I won them at Vintage Plum, and it had been so long ago, that I don't know what for! It was a drawing for the product, I believe! Anyway, I wanted to do some masking with all those die cuts I've been making for my MoMoStamper Etsy Shop! I've been playing with techniques so that I could come up with some cute examples to post in the store.

Well, I was surfing the blogosphere and there was mention about The Dares, and I'd been wanting to check that place out for awhile now. It's really intriguing over there! Wouldn't you know it, the dare involved getting messy! I could finally put something together...this was my cue! Messy...like PAINT kindof messy...not really my style! I don't mean that I don't like it, but it's not something I usually do in my layouts....though I've admired MANY layouts just like this!

So this page was born after Dare 143. Basically it's getting messy with ink, paint and masks!
I got to do some real playing around on this one! I felt like I was in grade school again!!! I used my die cuts as masks and sprayed on some Shimmerz in 2 colors to create the effect on lighter cardstock. First I sprayed on the blue/green color and when it dried, I removed the masks and sprayed again with the pink color Shimmerz. I love how this layout is kinda off centered....kinda GOOFY looking!

Here's the INGREDIENTS:

Flower Embellishments by Prima - Petal Palette Mix #7
Adhesive Felt Borders - Darcy Collection Anna Griffin
Chipboard Stickers - Remarks Series - Thickers by American Crafts
Clear and Mirrored raindrops and circles (manufacturer unknown)
Love & Happiness Rub Ons - black - Stampin' Up!
Rhinestone Brads - Stampin' Up!
Signo Gel Pen in white - UniBall
Stickles - Black - Ranger
Cardstock Stickers - Sassafras
Pigma Micron 03 Journaling Pen - black - Sakura
Shimmerz in 4 Leaf Clover and Bed of Roses
Flowers - Making Memories
Pixie Pink Classic Stampin' Pad - Stampin' Up!
Scallop Edge Punch - Stampin' Up!
Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon - Bermuda Bay - Stampin' Up!
Vintage Butterflies - MoMoStamper Etsy Shop
Vintage Flowers - MoMoStamper Etsy Shop

I outlined the butterflies with some Stickles. The clear adhesive circle came from that pack with the raindrops.....I wish I had MORE! I took a turquoise marker and placed 3 dots down the middle of the butterfly. Then I placed the clear circles on them. To give the butterfly a pink tinge, I just took my Stampin' Up! ink in a shade of pink and pressed the butterfly into it.

Again, I was lacking in the Thickers "E" department, so I used a "3" and thought it went really well with the goofy theme I already had going on!

I used more Stickles to place dots on the left edge where I used my scallop border punch. Okay, story on the photo: This was taken during my sister's Graduation Party....um....after few drinks. I did a goofy pose for the camera. This was the result!

Here I used some of my Vintage Die Cut Flowers. One was used as a mask. I then added a couple die cut flowers in my flower cluster. I thought that big flower needed some definition, so I traced along the outline with a black journaling pen.

Here's a close-up of the raindrops. I love how some of them are mirrored! I thought they were a nice representation of how I love rain. Especially with thunderstorms! You can see how I went in with my gel pen along the scallop edge. I love the imperfection of it!

I added some rub ons and the parts that were on the photo, I outlined again with the Signo Gel Pen. I'm not a good doodler AT ALL. So, this was how I cheated! You can't really tell that it wasn't a freehand doodle! I just traced the rub on!

Here's what the journaling reads:
"silliness is what keeps me going through the good, the bad, and the boring times! i'm sillier now @ 33 than i've EVER been! a direct result of hanging w/ a 2 & 6 yr old!"
I love GOOFY....it keeps me going! To get through a 13 hour day at work I do a lot of goofy talking, dancing, and sometimes even pranks! I sneak up on my co-workers...even some of the docs....either behind them or around a corner! One time one of my big burly guy co-workers went upstairs after closing...when it's dark and deserted...and we were trialing these headphone devices....and I started saying creepy things like..."Are you in the elevator?"...."Remember that scene from The Grudge when the ghost was behind the lady in the elevator?" He didn't say anything at the time, but when he came back down I asked "Did I scare you?" and I was surprised to hear that I FREAKED HIM OUT! I've scared myself a few times...my imagination ALWAYS freaks me out when I find myself in a part of the department alone....in the dark! I work in a Clinic....but HOSPITALS ARE SCARIER! He he he....

Okay, back on track....After I spelled out my name with those turquoise letters....it seemed too plain...so I Stickled around them!

I love this layout because it's sooooooo different from what I usually do! It's one of my FAVES! And it's about MOI~!
Hope you enjoyed my out-of-the-ordinary layout! Have a great weekend Bloggy Gals!
I hope to do more like these!

MERRY CHRISTMAS! YEAH....YOU READ IT RIGHT!

Welcome one and all! The Great Nat King Cole will be honoring us with MY favorite Christmas Song rendition.....OF ALL TIME! Every year this plays while I get my home decorated! Aaaaaah! Sit back, relax and ENJOY!

Here's a family photo taken last Christmas! Yes...those are footy pajamas I'm wearing! LOL! Um....kid's section....and yes, there were STILL sizes bigger than mine! Tee he he! My poor Hubby was stuck at work...as he usually is for any fun silly things we do! He did make it in time for the opening of presents, though! We have this family tradition where we stay up every Christmas Eve...and when the clock strikes twelve, we start to rip open our presents! We've done this ever since I could remember! We also take goofy photos with each present after we open them.....imagine present bows stuck in our hair and underwear on the head......THOSE kind of pictures!

Welcome to CHRISTMAS IN JULY! The ever so imaginative Maggi put together this party hoppin' bloggin' EXTRAVAGANZA! So after this post go back to MAGGI'S BLOG to see the rest of the participants in her sidebar!

On to the project! So....spacey me was about to share some regular project with you...and I realized....uh....HELLO.....Mo, what in he world is WRONG in that head of yours!....CHRISTMAS IN JULY....gotta be Christmas-y! UGH! So I change plans and decide on something else last minute! BUT YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! This baby brain will get better.....won't it?
WON'T IT?

Fortunately, I've got a little project up my sleeve! It's actually part of an old idea I shared last Fall/Winter when the only person reading my blog was.......um....ME, and like the 5 people I forwarded my link to (I'm SURE I ended up in their SPAM folders)! Ah ha ha ha! So I thought, why waste a perfectly great idea....every one's talking about RECYCLING right? Well, HERE YOU GO! LOL! BLOG POST RECYCLING COUNTS, DOESN'T IT?

So here's my fun project:

How many of you want to make handmade Christmas cards, but don't have the time to crank them out? Can you spare about 2 minutes a card???? Well here you go!

These cards are what I like to call QUICK CARDS! Every year, I slam out about 100 of em and give them away to friends and family in packs of 3 for Christmas. The only thing different from the photo above is I make birthday, thank you, and friendship cards which the recipients can then use! I tell them to stick them in their glove compartment so they have an emergency stash of cards available! I've had many friends tell me that my cards came in handy! And I'm sure they're expecting more this Christmas!
So, you can use this idea to make cards to give out to your neighbors, friends, and family AND/OR you can make a bunch of Christmas cards to give away! I usually start all my handmade gift making IN THE SUMMER....YES....like NOW....so that I'm not scrambling during the Holidays. I shoot for finishing all my handmade gifts AND any extra shopping I need to do by OCTOBER! Then, when the Holidays come, I'm much less stressed out and I can actually ENJOY my favorite time of year!

Need handmade gift ideas? Well, last year I started making You Tube videos to share with my Stampin' Up! customers to give them ideas for Holiday projects and I had a featured project of the month. If you need ideas, check them out HERE. I'm planning on starting up again next month!
So GUESS WHAT! I'VE GOT A VIDEO TUTORIAL ON THESE QUICK CARDS! Take a peek! Don't forget to press pause in the Playlist player above before viewing the videos below.

AND here is another video tutorial for creating a Christmas Tree ornament. Warning...I'm a little camera shy normally...so I'm missing some personality in the video! LOL! I kept on thinkin' in my head....."try not to say um....don't say um too much"! He he....I hope I get better!

Hope you got some ideas from those videos!
Here's another Christmas photo to share. Below is a photo of my sister Krystal and I making handmade cards for gift giving. We had a scrappy Christmas Eve! The funnest kind!

And just for fun, I'm throwing this video in for Maggi, cuz for the last 2 days I've been singing this song thanks to the title of one of her recent blog posts which really didn't have to do anything with this song...LOL! Say Say Say..........

Ready for the giveaway? Leave a comment below and let me know if you'd prefer tutorials set to music or narrated tutorials....or a mix! I've been trying to muster up the courage for more narrated tutorials....and a subscriber actually asked me to do them. I'm limited now in my music choices and can only pick the ones available through You Tube....the choices aren't great either! So what do ya think? Video or Narrated tutorials?
Here's the prize! The winner CAN CHOOSE between these different goodies in m
MoMoStamper Etsy Store
YOU GET 2 DIFFERENT SETS! Pick 2 of the same or 2 different kinds of goodies! Click on the links below to see more photos of each set! DON'T FORGET TO LEAVE AN EMAIL IF IT'S NOT ALREADY LINKED TO YOUR BLOG/PROFILE so I can contact you if you win.
