Scrapping Friends

Fletchers Love Football

Ohhhhh, yeah!  Football season.....

I'm not a big football fan really.  But over the years I do love what the season brings.  As a child, my Sundays were full of naps beside my Dad while he watched football.  The sound of cheering fans in a football field actually lull me to sleep to this day.  There's a sense of safety and security I feel on the couch on a Sunday just lounging and napping and eating next to ANY family member.

I love how it brings people together.  The world may be busy the rest of the week but come Sunday, it slows down enough to cherish togetherness.

I scrapped about my dear friends above.  My God daughter is the younger of the two gals.  I love those girls to pieces.  Love love looooove them!  I pulled that collage from my girlfriend's Facebook page!  Yes, they all know they are not safe from Mo's photo lurking!

Thanks for stopping by on this lovely day!

xoxo

Imagine

Imagine by Maureen Esquillo-Kao Supplies Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper, GCD Studios, Pink Paislee, Prima, Teresa Collins; Rub Ons: Hambly Screen Prints; Chipboard Alphas: American Crafts; Sticker: Pink Paislee; Flower: Prima; Die Cuts: Pink Paislee; Craft Lacquer: Stampin' Up!; Ink: Ranger; Other: Yellow printed cardstock; cork board cutout, silver crown, tag, twine
Yay!  Get ready, I'm able to share all the projects I've been working on for Scrapbook News and Review Magazine!  I use a one-word title.  I had fun with lots of inking (Ranger inks) and clear glaze over my rub on (the wings) to make them demensional! It gives it the look of epoxy stickers.
The layout is about my Granmother. What brings me joy is seeing parts of my her (she passed in 1994) in myself.  My smile, my hair, and the stories I tell my kids.  One big thing I remember is her "white lies" she'd tell to make my sister and I do what she wanted us to do.  To make us eat she'd say that if your stomach was hungry and unfed, it would start eating our intestines!  Or if you crossed your eyes and a gust of wind blew, you'd have crossed-eyes forever!  SERIOUSLY! We believed her for years!  I find myself telling my kids similar things! LOL!  They're just fibs, right?

We've been busy with lots of summer happenings.  I've also been extra busy with projects.  I'm having way too much fun creating...you'll see!

On that note, the June issue of SNR is available!  You've GOT to check it out!

SWAP!

Prompt #41: Swap
Are you ready to see a Ninja Swap? This last prompt is one of my most fave Ninja Prompts so far! The Ninja Masters had us swap photos and scrap! I got to scrap this beautiful photo belonging to Ninja April.

Well...not THAT photo above...the one below, I just wanted to put a pic of Ninja April up!

(i did some stamping and embossing here...can you see?  he he....it's the woodgrain stamp...i used white embossing powder....love the texture.  And you know how you have buttons and sometimes get tired of putting string through the holes..but need something in them?  I put a brad through the chipboard button on that red flower and addedsome goodies to it as well!)
That fabulous chipboard button is from Such Sweet Tierney!

Wanna see the gorgeous layout April made for me?

Isn't it beautiful!  She did such a crazy rockin' job with the photo and the papers and that flower!!!  LOVE IT!  I can't wait till this page is in my grubby little hands!

So, for the next promp, SWAP! Trade out a photo and scrap away!
And here's some 4th of July photos to share!

Home is Where the FART is!

Okay, so the pic of this layout is REALLY BAD!  There's just not much light here in Washington and its cold and my glass door needs SOME MAJOR CLEANING (see the reflections of the line smudges....courtesy of Gabe's grimy hands)!  Ugh...I've got a Gabe story to tell.....

But first I'll tell you bout this layout.  Once again I played with the Sketchy Thursday sketch (1-21) and really stuck to it!  I loved the sketch and really didn't want to change a thing.  I loved what I came up with!

Basically this layout is about wherever my family is...that's where home is.....sniff sniff.
Can you see Gabe?  He's hiding....tee hee!  I love this photo, but all that's missing is Luke...he's the one who took the pic....poor guy, always the one left out!  Oh well, I know that he's there behind the camera and of course, if he's not there...my home isn't complete...cuz Home Is Where the Fart Is....oops....I mean HEART!

And I snapped this picture yesterday...he he.  Luke and I stared at him all sweet looking...but he's such a TROUBLEMAKER!!!!!  We giggle all the time and I always have to yell at Hubbs for giggling when Gabe's getting a scolding....and next thing you know WE BOTH end up giggling....ugh!

I love the Kool Aid mustache!  He doesn't have a shirt because he started screaming because he had water all over his shirt....because he got wet while playing in the bathroom which he isn't SUPPOSED TO BE DOING!  So I ask him why he's wet and he says "because I'm putting water on my TRAIN TRACKS!"......silly Mommy...don't you know train tracks need some water on them or they're NO GOOD! He he....and HE HATES the feeling of wet clothing against his body...he he...so I stretch out the suffering more by lecturing him on not playing with water and what happens to your clothes...and how awful that feeling is...so "you shouldn't do it again!"....and not too long into my lecture he starts to LOSE IT because he's SOOOO in need of  a nap!

I whip off his shirt and tuck him under the blanket and POOF....a couple minutes later he's OUT!

Siiiiggggghhhhhh.....I love this kid LOVE HIM WITH ALL MY HEART......but I get WEARY!
So....he's spending a few hours at my Aunt's tomorrow so I can find my sanity...I dunno what I'll do...maybe sit at home with my feet up and a DVD in and basking in the beauty of a silent house!  Isabel will probably wanna go there too...so I'm pretty sure I'll be alone!  Wooohooo!

Sketchy Thursdays has also got a SECOND CHANCE challenge (till 1/31) and you can win some OH SO COOL Ippity Stamps!  Yeah!  And you've got till next Wednesday for the current sketch!

Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!  Get to scrappin' if you can!

Remember to....
1) Vote for the MOTW in the sidebar (if you haven't already).
2) Work on the latest Pink Ninja prompt before the new one is posted Wednesday!

My Life, My Love, My Family

A couple of months ago, I did some needed scrapbook supply shopping! I purchased some of these wonderful coordinating papers and die cut stickers. They are made by Bella BLVD and the papers are fittingly named Family Tree. I've been waiting for an opportunity to use them....it came!

I used a photo taken of my family last Fall. It's one of my favorite photos ever taken! I only had one photo, so I used transparent self-adhesive photo corners to mount my photo to this layout.

I also used some solid cardstock I already had in my paper stash...but I can't remember where the cardstocks were purchased from.

This layout is very special because family, love and life are all interchangeable...they all mean the same thing to me.
I wanted a ripped and layered look behind the photo so I combined strips of cardstock. I ripped a strip from some patterned paper called Family Circle (Bella BLVD)...love these papers!
I also got to bust out my Scenic Route Grid Chipboard (purchased from Vintage Plum)! It was too much of a bright white...so I gave it an aged look by inking it lightly with Creamy Brown chalk ink by Colorbox.

Here's the a list of goodies I used in this LO:

Family Tree - Growing Up by Bella BLVD
Family Tree - Family Circle by Bella BLVD
Family Tree - Label Additions by Bella BLVD
Family Tree - Family Tree by Bella BLVD

Stampin' Dimensionals by Stampin' Up!
Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue
Canson Transparent Self-Adhesive Photo Corners
Colorbox Fluid Chalk Inkpads in Creamy Brown and Charcoal
Redmond Chipboard Stencil Worn Grid (Scenic Route)

I cut out various trees from the Family Tree printed paper (Bella BLVD). I tucked a couple of the trees behind the printed green cardstock. The trees which were popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals and placed to give the illusion that they were in the foreground. The green printed paper with the vines is called Growing Up (Bella BLVD). I also used the chalk ink here in charcoal to ink the ripped edges. I CAN'T STOP RIPPING CARDSTOCK!!!!! I also can't stop using my fluid chalk ink by Colorbox!

Now...what to do with the rest of the papers!!! Hmmmmmm. Well, that's it for now. Check back in a couple of days....I've got something in the works!
All rightey, that's all folks! Thanks for visiting!!!!
