My Girly Girl

Here's the newest collage challenge over at Nerdy Victorious Scrapbookers!  Beautiful no?
I love looking at the collages even though sometimes I'm not able to play along.

Here's my take:

I found a pic of my Girly Girl at age 4 right after her baby brother was born.  She's so beautiful!
She was sooo posing for that picture!  She did it on her own...with no direction.  What a ham!

I played with Picnik to add part of the title to the photo.  So cool!

I misted a kraft envelope (by Maya Road) to match.  F...U...N!
I used some elements from my Pink Ninja Addicts Kit: Carousel!
Here's a look at the yumminess just cuz the colors are beautiful on this post!

I used a chipboard epoxy button by London Tierney:
This is called "Flirty"

Check out NVS and play along!
There's a prize which will be posted August 1st!

Everyone seems to be busy lately with the summer slowdown.
What have you been up to?

Kickin' It.....BUCKET STYLE?

Remember this sneak?  Well, over the weekend, the project was posted in the Scrap Freak Forum as part of the May Class...so that means I can SHARE!

I've been meaning to do a bucket list for some time now.  And a post over at Carrie's blog gave me the inspiration I needed to get my butt in gear.  Thanks Carrie!

Look at all the goodies peeking out here!  Don't you wanna reach out and touch it?

I used LOTS of Pink Ninja GOODIES in this one!  And once again.....this is my most FAVORITEST kit...Accidentally Kelly Street.  I just love the combinations of color, girly and a little tough rock girl in there!  Just like ME!

Yah, I KNOW....lots of photos...but I took em...and I have to put my time to good use and share em ALL!

I really love this mini canvas book by Maya Road which I purchased from Simply Obsessed.  I want another one to play with.  It's so cool because it has two of these wonderful canvas pockets and thick chipboard pages!

So the topic was making a bucket list and I sat for a few minutes just thinking of things I'd like to add.  I figure the canvas pockets would be perfect for momentos like ticket stubs or something....little pieces of evidence to show I completed an item on my bucket list.

I used a hot glue gun to glue all these beautiful pieces to my pages.  It really works well!

I used lots of my Etsy purchases in this book!  This book is also a tribute to my love of Etsy!!!!  Even the Pink Ninja Addicts Kit is from Etsy!

This cute little bunny is from my girl Euphoria's Etsy Shop called Random Shenanigans!  Love all her beautiful goodies in her store!

Here's a close up!  I'm gonna use some of my bunnies for an Easter layout as well!

I LOVE how I layered strips of paper on this page!  That pink piece has a velvety soft feel.....gosh I so love this book!

That lace impressed heart is also from Random Shenanigans.

And that beautifully decorated chipboard button is created by London Tierney from her Etsy Store called Such Sweet Tierney!  Show her some love and visit my Seattle friend on her blog and Etsy shop!  She's such an amazing artist.

I added lots of cute brads to the holes....makes me giggle!

Remember, if you can't read the print, click on the images and you'll get a close up of ALL my photos!  I take the time to upload them as LARGE as I can just for you all!

I know, some of them are really simple...go fishing...I have as a child but it's been soooo long that I really need to go again!

I've also left some pages blank to be filled in later as I come up with MORE things to add to my bucket list!

I love that green tulle!

He he...isn't that cloud sooooo stinkin' cute?  That's another creation by Euphoria!

Look at those cheeks!  I love all the stitching around the edges!

More of those lovely paper strips...and another Random Shenanigans item...that froggy frog is soooo adorable!

giggling....

And a crochet flower from my Pink Ninja Addicts Kit to which I plopped on that cute bunny in the center and secured with some hot glue!

I love all the layers and how you can see items peeking out from behind other items!

This project was sooooo motivating and made me reflect on life and realize that I should keep my sights on some goals I have even though I tend to live life from moment to moment...to enrich it, I really need to remember to make my hopes, dreams and goals come true as well!

Have you worked on YOUR LIST?  Do you have one?  What's on it?  I would LOVE to hear!

Technique: no pattern paper!

pink twist: buttons

I love this picture of my BOYS!  Nope, that's not Luke's baby pic, that's my lil Gabriel smiling in his sleep....he must have been playing with angels!  LOL, I can't believe how much they look alike!!!  Love this page!!!!

So, instead of patterned paper, I took the fabric and ribbon from my Pink Ninja Addicts Kit (called Accidentally Kelly Street) and used that for some added interest!  The kit also comes with that extraordinary fabric/felt buttonlike flower....so cute!

I love your layout as it tells your story on hoarding and I can't blame you because I can't see it as a flaw because I have something similar in that I can't let go...especially crafting supplies. I'd love to have my own room as I am growing out of my space. Recently, I did purge. It was awful - throwing away paper scraps. But I had to. I need to be more organized to scrap more efficiently! I hoard and I'm OCD; so it keeps it all organized (doesn't always help my flaw, but hey...). Love that layout telling your story! ;D

Congrats Terry!  Email me your addy and I'll send that honkin' box right out to ya!!!!

And NNNNNEEEEEXXXXXTTTTT...........
We have the winner of a bracelet (or other goodie item from my Etsy Shop).......

I looked at all the commenters who were also fans on my FB page and them numbered those comments...then used Random.org to draw the winner!
And the winner of the bracelent drawing is.....

A great layout, MO!!!! And seriously, lately I have become less and less of a pack rat. I've been all about simplifying and throwing out what I don't need. So my tip is just go for it. Look at it, and say "Will I really use this anytime soon?" and if the answer is no, get rid of it. I just donated a ton of old scrapbooking supplies to Big Brother/Big Sister. A friend of the family works there, so I asked her if they could use it and she said the kids without a big brother/sister do arts and crafts so she was happy!!! Hope you get it all under control:) Love ya girlie!!! Jess

Congrats Jess...I can't believe you won another giveaway from me....he he!  I have your addy...just pick something from my Etsy and I'll send it right out to ya!  FYI, I'm uploading a few more bracelets to it...he he...I've been slacking!

Now, if you ladies decide that you don't WANT the RAK or bracelet...definitely let me know and I won't take offense...as the topic of discussion was being a Pack Rat and purging!!!  He he!  Just shoot me an email and I'll draw again....don't worry, I'll try to contact you if I end up drawing again!

Phew....I've had a busy week and it's going to get even BUSIER!!!  Eeeeekkkk!

I'm sure I'll feel like this by the end of Tuesday next week:

Isn't that the CUTEST PHOTO????  I'm not sure where I got it...probably from some chain email...I don't know this doggy...at least, I don't think so!  He he...soo cute!!!  Hoped you liked it!!!

What are YOU up to?????

Miss Mo's Wake Up Potion!

I love this layout...I LOOOOOOVE this layout...I luv THIS layout!

It's my FAVE drink!  Yummmmm!

TAAFOMFT prompt is Favorite Drink!  Well, I have MANY...

I'm not sure if you guys notice...but every so often...I bring in a piece of Hawaii into my layouts!  I used that cute hibiscus (the flower) and those journaling squares by Sassafras and that Sass printed paper....aaaaahhhh...HOME!

I SERIOUSLY created this layout with scraps in plain sight!  I'm not sure if I admitted this, but my scrap table is usually a MESS with odds and ends strewn about.  Things out of packages, pieces of torn paper and leftover scraps are ALMOST ALWAYS covering my scrap table and floors.  Gabe and Bel frequently play with buttons and leave them on the floor....and usually I just let it be!

I was feeling VERY creative so I took this old cardstock I had FOREVER and decided...I'm going to make a layout using this.  Then I looked over my messy table and pulled pieces here and there and put them together....VIOLA!

Have you ever done that?

I added the letters later to match but other than that, these scrappity scraps were an arm length away!  Ha ha....cool.

I got the cool idea about cutting your own scallop border freehand (from the Scrap Freak guru Bree -if I'm not mistaken)!  See!  It's so imperfect and yet....PERFECT!  I love it.

I'm dragging all morning long without my cup of coffee at work!  It's soo rough when there is a line-up at the Walk-In Clinic BEFORE we open!  Ugh....cuz then I KNOW I won't be getting my coffee until later in the day!

I make my Faux Starbucks...aka..."poor man's" French Vanilla Soy Latte!  Yummy!

I take my SILK (only this brand) Vanilla soy milk and add some French Vanilla syrup and a pack of that Starbucks instant coffee....yes....I said INSTANT....and ta da!

Another version is using Silk Extra Vanilla Soy Milk (the purple carton) and the Starbucks instant coffee...and done...you don't have to add any extra flavor!  You could also use your coffee maker and use a BUNCH of coffee with much less water than normal (to make it concentrated) and you can set your coffee maker to a slower brew time....ta da!

And see those tags on the side?  I just put pretty pieces of printed paper and tucked them in.  They pull out and I can write stuff on them...but I haven't yet...maybe I'll write the "recipes" I just shared with you above!

And YES....I admit it...I have a.....FASTENATER!  LOL!  I used that bad boy real good...ooh...that sounds dirty!

What's YOUR fave drink?  If you haven't already, play along!

NOW, it's time for.....

Spotlight on Handmade!

So, for my bday, I bought myself this GORGEOUS NECKLACE made by the beautiful Calia who is one of the FIRST people I met when I started meeting scrappers online a little over a year ago!

I'm Moving On...

I am LOVING these "Me" pages I've been doing.  And I am so very HONORED to be on All About Me's Design Team inspiring others to remember that scrapping about yourself is important.

YOU are the one scrapping and passion on the memories and stories to others.  The story is in YOUR words and EXPRESSION through the art we call scrapbooking.  But to tell THE WHOLE story, someone needs to understand the person behind the creations.

I created the title by using a gel pen to handwrite it.  I layered some FUN Tim Holtz Rock Candy Distress Stickles by Ranger to give it a clear, icy look.

I've been reminding myself to USE MY STAMPS...so I used some swirly stamps to fancy up the title and went back in with my white gel pen to jazz the swirlies up!

I also played with my liquid pearls by Ranger.

The challenge is to use this quote as inspiration for your layout:
"Giving up doesn't always mean you are weak sometimes it means that you are strong enough to let go."

I wrote about my experiences in my early Nursing career.  It WAS ROUGH, to say the least.  Here's the story in the journaling:

"Fresh out of Nursing School, I was doing what I'd dreamed I'd do.  It was SUCH a difficult start for me...so much so that others made me doubt myself and my purpose in life.  They put me down and became obstacles rather than supports.  And I didn't know enough then to be angry and fight for myself.  When I realized that I HATED to get up and go to work & counted down the hours till it was over, I knew I had to make a change.  In a career which eats it's young alive, I REFUSE!  I'd rather build someone up, than tear them down!"

I ended up quitting my job working on the Cardiothoracic Surgical floor and working for a different employer with a different philosophy.  I should have known when I found out the place I used to work was nicknamed "The Hellhole" by nurses around Washington State.  Ugh.

I may go back one day, because it really was an exciting place to be and something I'd like to try again now that I have MORE years and more FIGHT in me!

Oh!  And I used some embelly goodies in my creation!

Here's a SPOTLIGHT on Handmade Goodies!!!!

Have you guys seen London's Etsy shop called Such Sweet Tierney?  I think I stumbled across it when she had her DT call and BOY WAS I HAPPY I found this place!  She makes the coolest high quality handmade chipboard epoxy buttons (and some other cool stuff)!  And I LOVE that she is a Washingtonian just like me!

I got a BUNCH of em!  Like these BEAUTIFUL BABIES!

AND THESE SOPHISTICATED LADIES:

Shipping was quick and everything was packaged so beautifully and professionally!  WOW!

And her blog is TOO COOL!

So check this lady out...she's uber cool!
Oh!  And you'll catch the TALENTED Pearl there on the DT...she's so awesome!

Hope you enjoyed the fun eye candy!

Play at AAM with me!!!!!  There's a prize...but I don't know what it is...maybe it's up now...hmmmm....but the layout you create is prize enough...right????

Okay, so I'll share a couple photos from last night (My bday dinner at Mom's).

Me and my babies...and my cold sore!  Yuck!  Since LAST WEEK I've been slathering ointment and moisturizer on my "new friend"...er...actually enemy!  Not looking too horrible a week out, right?  (Yes...PLEASE LIE TO ME!)

We had Pancit Palabok...hmmmm...not quite sure how to explain this Filipino Dish: noodles and chicken and egg..that's the best explaining I can do.  And chocolate cake!  Yumm!

Can you guess how old?

Mo
