girls, fairies and mugs....

We've been busy....just living.
Yesterday....girls day....I set aside a day whenever I can to spend some alone time with my baby girl.

Dropped the boy off at 10 am with my Aunt so I could get some chores done and work in a massage.....opted for "moderate to deep pressure"....never did that before....my eyes were watering....
almost jumped off the table!...but I knew the pain would be worth it because my back feels sooooooo much better today!  That was seriously a "no pain, no gain" kinda thing!

I worked in about 10 minutes sitting out in the sun flipping through my magazine by the bookstore about a block away from the massage place I go 2.....beautiful.  Saw an elderly gentleman enjoying life....people watching and reading a newspaper.

Went home, planned the next day on my iPhone while waiting for my daughter to get outta school
Picked up my girl and headed to "Color Me Mine"....F....U.....NNNNNNN!  It's a ceramics studio where you pick a piece, color it and just enjoy creating.  We had a BLAST!  I painted a fun coffee mug while Bel painted a fairy.  Our pieces will be ready tomorrow! (They have to put it in the kiln.)

Until I get our pieces back and photograph them....I leave you some of this Flickr eye-candy!

free stuff and a giveaway!

One of the things I love about blogging is finding awesome blogs and meeting new people.
I was able to snag some precious time blog stalking yesterday and found two cool things I wanna pass along to you all!

First up, my friend Maria over at Personalized Sketches and Sentiments is doing a huge giveaway!  She's such a talented artist, loving mother, and just an all around great person!  I always feel at home when I visit her blog because she talks about Hawaii and her family reminds me alot of mine.  I am always reminded of how lucky I to have been to have such wonderful parents and amazing sisters and am now blessed with my own beautiful family.

Here's one of em.....

You have got to hop over there to see the amazing art she creates!

Next...I found....FREE FONTS!  A GANG of em!  I love visiting KEVINANDAMANDA.COM.  Go HERE to download them!  I think she will even create a font with your handwriting if you want!  There are some really cute doodles there too!

Hope your weekend was grand!
I'm pooped from all the running around I did!
Sunday will be spent lounging....

have you ever felt on the verge...

of something....not quite sure what...but you feel a change coming on.
it's been bugging me for the last few months....
not sure what's on the horizon...if it's good, sad, happy, enlightening, cleansing, transforming...or everything all wrapped in one.
i just feel these things sometimes.
and i'm anxious
and scared

i've been thinking bout going back to school. not sure if we can swing it financially....but looking into it...i'm hopeful....
i've been examining my life and really trying to figure out what makes me happy...sad
something's missing...

Mo's Playlist

I've been having fun with this mosaic maker!
The prompts for BOTH All About Me and The Pink Ninja's worked TOGETHER!
I had a lot of fun making this one......

For All About Me, the challenge is "One Little Word".....I chose the word "listen"...although I didn't use it in my title....I'm always breaking the rules....lol!
But it did prompt me to create this layout...and that's all that matters right????
Because in the end...there really aren't any rules!
And that's the way I like it!  (wink, wink)

I just saved my creation I made using "mosaic maker" and then printed it out.
I cut it up into strips.
played with paint,,,played with the computer,,,played with a transparency,,,,so much fun,,,,
I also created my FIRST 8.5 x 11 layout!......LOVE!

The Pink Ninja prompt is called "PLAYLIST".....

I love to listen to music...I've been listening to so much of it since I got my can't-live-without-it iPhone!
These are only some of my fave artists....

who do YOU listen to?
i'd LOVE to see what you come up with!

I hope you can play along with us at both challenge blogs!

Over at AAM, Lucky Girl Crafts is the sponsor!  Play and you could win a $20 gift certificate!

I know it's a busy time....
the last thing I created was this layout....i haven't been in my craft room....it's been almost a couple weeks!!!!
i'm sure it misses me......i sure miss it back...

I'm hoping to get in there soon!

Iron Girl Mo

Today I took a day off to play with my girls at the Aflac Iron Girl Event!
We did the 5K run/walk...fun!

Me and my walking buddy Sherry!
We even got medals!  Ha ha!  Loved it!

On our last mile, we got to talking.....as our stomachs started to growl....where would we go????
And Sherry thought of Patty's Eggnest....yummmmm....Belgian Waffles with Strawberries and cream.....YUUUUUUUUUUM!
WE THEN PICKED UP OUR PACE!!!!

By the end of the day I probably consumed more calories (even minus the calories burned while walking) than if I had just sat at home......
Oh well....it was a BLAST (RIGHT SHER?)!

More photos from the beginning of the week...

My girl on her first day of 2nd grade.  So cute.

The duo....

Extra silly photo.....

To cheer my Gabe up after his sister left for school, I made him some hot chocolate with whip cream....his FAVE!

It helped take his mind off is sadness and boredome!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
What did you do?

a poetic body

I have been inspired lately by a beautiful blog
that focuses on self, spirituality, motherhood, love and life.

Thanks, Jess for pointing me in this direction.

I have been peeking into the self-portraits that these amazing women have taken.
It's so inspiring, so honest, and so beautiful.
The series is called "Elements of Self".

This specific topic is: poetic bodies
where you photograph your favorite body parts.

I find it so very amazing that, in my thirties, I feel so much more sure of myself.
I know myself.  It's taken many years, and I'm sure I have much more to learn, but I've come so far.
I think it happens with time....and with that hormone surge you get in your thirties helps to add a sort of....glow.  I've grown to appreciate myself, my body, my talents, and accept my flaws.

Though motherhood has taken a toll on my body by stretching it in so many different ways and marking it up with flaws, I still see the beauty in it.
It's amazing how, when you're young...you really don't realize how beautiful your body is.  If I knew then what I knew now....I wonder what kind of trouble I would have gotten into ;)

Thankfully, I've come to a point in my life where I feel beautiful, sexy, confident, and happy with who I am.
Of course, I have my insecurities.  But I focus on my positives.

Oh...no...you don't get to see it in focus.  I still don't feel secure enough to take a clear pic so you get to see this wonderfully blurred photograph!  With the help of picnik.com, I did some shading and dimming....

Move over J-Lo, there's a new booty in town!

See the beauty in yourself.

Which part of your body do you love most?

xoxo Mo

Summer Rituals coming to an end...

All About Me asks you....What's your morning ritual?
Share yours and maybe win a prize from our awesome sponsor....

Check out their website HERE!

I am loooooving the Septempber Kit!!!!

Well, summer is coming to an end...and so will our fun morning rituals....sigh.
It's so nice to go out and about in the sunshine with my babies.

I've always been very spontaneous....I feel so constrained with schedules.  I love freedom.
Though our morning rituals can change day to day...for the most part, it consists of the elements I've outlined in my layout :)  I connected the events with corkscrew arrows...because I live life like that...hardly ever a straight line!!!!!

But I always wish I could just stick to a schedule...naturally I JUST CAN'T!

The Ninja's are at it again with prompt #45:

Yes....Mommies are great at giving love...but they often seem to be forgotten.
Luckily, I don't wallow too long in self pity....though I make room for it to cleanse my soul....

The fun thing I did with this layout was adding the journaling later!
I created it but could NOT come up with the journaling on the spot!
I knew I was running out of time to photograph it (in the sun which is hard to come by some days in Washington)...so I snapped a pic of the journaling blocks while still blank.

Then, as I was editing the pic in PSE, I added the text....and I LOVED it!
Hmmmm....I really need to play with digi, right?

So come play come plaaaaay!!!!

Or just drop by and say hello to my AAM and Ninja girls and oooh and aaaah over their
works of art!

Hugs,
Mo
